Hopefully, this 384 is a repeat of last night's.

I went to take the kittys for a walk this morning, and J.D. didn't want to go, so I left him on the deck and Ginger and I went. She likes to run across the big lawn as fast as a cheetah, and I thought she was in the mood for a good run, so I told her to stay, as I do, and walked to the far end of the cold wet grass and when I stopped walking I called her, and she (being fussy about getting her feet wet) decided she didn't care for a run this morning. She was busy, smelling some bushes, and she normally comes right home for Breffis, so I left her, to go back home and to J.D.
She did not come home.
When I looked out the door a few minutes later, she was no where in sight. So, I got the treats and started out the door calling her name (at 6:30am on a Saturday morning, for all my neighbors with their windows open to hear :)), and shaking the treat bag.
J.D. always likes to get in on the searching for Ginger because I always bring his treats too. So, off J.D. and I go on our hunt for Ginger. We go around the corner of my building, and I see Ghost (not his real name, but that's what I call him), a 20 something pound, over weight, and big white cat (that's weird in that he likes to hiss at you at the same time he rubs up against your legs and shakes his tail), hiding in the bushes. My first thought, was is Ginger okay?, because Ghost often comes out when I call for Momma (a squirrel) even though Ghost is a boy and Momma is a girl and Ghost is a cat and Momma is a squirrel. My cats often approach him and he seems timid, and I always make sure they don't interact (and I go always wash my hands when I get home, after petting him). Well, Ginger was no where in sight still, and I'm shaking the bag of treats and calling for Ginger, and J.D. is coming along behind me. And then, Ghost decided he'll come out of the bushes and maybe get some treats too. J.D. is approaching Ghost, with me standing in between the two cats, and I tried to give J.D. a treat, but he wasn't interested in the treat. He kept approaching Ghost. J.D. is only 13.3 pounds, and at least twice (maybe 3 or 4 times) Ghost's age.
I try, to keep myself along J.D.'s side, and push him away, a little, when he gets too close (within a few feet nailbite_smile ). Soon, Ghost starts trotting off towards his home, and J.D. is following with a determined and fast walk, after him. I walk along side J.D. (to protect my baby), but letting him do what comes naturally to him, and telling him he's a good boy. We get around the front of the next building, and we don't see Ghost. J.D. keeps going, and finally decides he's going to search through some bushes, and I keep gently pulling him away from the bushes, a few times, and he's kind of hissing at me, because he wants to get that cat.. and then I see Ghost .. hiding under a parked car .. but J.D. doesn't see him, and keeps walking along peering at the bushes, and we go all the way around the building with J.D. smelling the places where Ghost normally hangs out, and then finally we're back around the next building over from ours, facing towards home again, and there is Ginger waiting by the steps leading up to our condo. She must have been hiding in the bushes, but watching her hero J.D. chase off that big white kitty.

I did for some reason? take my camera with me, so luckily I got some halfway decent pictures of J.D. for the 2013 FDMB Calendar. I hope everyone that wants their cat's picture in the calendar, is getting their photos in. The last I heard was Deanie was extending the deadline a little, and is still accepting photos.

When J.D. was done with his adventure, and we were facing back towards home, he went pee in the grass, and then as we were walking along towards home, he was eating grass, so his tummy might be upset.
I just served 1st Breffis, and he did not want any. I almost gave him some cypro, but decided to hold off for a bit.

J.D. is now laying in his little kitty bed, and I'll try taking his food to him.

Re: 09/02 J.D. AMPS 384 - J.D. The Hero

What a wonderful, heroic story. Good boy, J.D.!!!! I'm glad to hear that Ginger came back. I always fear when a cat goes outside that they'll never come back, especially around our area where we live in a rural part of the county, and there's a lot of wild animals outside, both prey and predator. Hoping for some lower #s for your little guy. Have a wonderful day!

What a good boy JD is looking after Ginger. I'm glad everything worked out okay. Hopefully the grass won't upset JD's stomach too much and he'll eat for you. Hope he comes down soon.

Oh, he eats grass all the time. I used to call my cats, cows, because they graze so much
He did throw up some bile this morning, which is from acidy tummy, and I gave him some pepcid, even though he got some pepcid about 8 hours prior  I'm sure the defending his property, may have upset his tummy a little, at least he didn't attack Ginger when we got home. When he was a younger cat, he used to attack my other cat Buddy, when we got home, after I pulled him away from cat fights.

He did eat a good Breffis, once he tasted the food (served to him) in his cat bed, and then ate another half helping.

"Ghost often comes out when I call for Momma (a squirrel) even though Ghost is a boy and Momma is a girl and Ghost is a cat and Momma is a squirrel" Hahaha, this sentence just made me laugh! you're a poet and didn't know it!!!

It would be awesome if there was a repeat of last night's numbers for you today...so I'm going to send some repeat vines to JD, along with hope his tummy is feeling better vines.

:thumbup drinking24 - and here's to our hero, JD! Good job looking out for your sister! I certainly hope that she shows her appreciation by giving you a nice bath!

J.D. the Hero!!! I love it! Good job J.D.!

Don't you just hate it when you can't find them? My heart always drops into my stomach when they don't come when I call. I am so glad Ginger was home safe when you got back and knew that J.D. the Hero was protecting her!

Hope you all have a good day.

JD is such a funny little dude! I love how he looks after his partner in crime:) I always envision all the neighbourhood animals following you and the treat bag around. It's cue that you have so many fuury friends :-D

Re: 09/02 J.D. AMPS 384, +4 392 +6 295 - just found blood on

I just got J.D. up from the deck to come in for 3rd Breffis (which he ate). He had thrown up the grass bits and there was a small puddle of what looked like water and grass bits that I intended to clean up before he laid in it. But alas, I was busy on the board, and when I got him up, I saw that he had laid in some of it, and I said "ewe gross, J.D." and then I looked at his white ruff and there was what looked like blood  I'll have to watch him. I used a white paper napkin to clean up the rest of the clear fluid and it just came back looking somewhat dirty. I wonder if it is the paint from the deck (redwood color) or blood. I hope he's okay.
I know he did not interact with the other cat, because I was there within feet of him the whole time (protecting him) and he was never out of my sight.

I'm off to run to the store, and will be back in an hour or so.

Here's hoping it's nothing, just a spot of s/thg harmless he got into. Good that you are sure he did not interact w/the other cat.

JD you are such a good brother! Extra treats and scritches for you! I hope the red was something he laid in. Have a great day Dyana!

Hopefully it's just somehing JD laid in. At least you know it's not something from the other cat. Sending prayers to you and JD just in case.

J.D. is eating his 1st Dinner, served to him on the couch. I am on my way to the store as steak is on sale through the holiday, and I need to stock up for winter supplies for my cats (It's a Limit 1 per purchase, so I have to keep going back).

you buy one, take it to your car and go back in and buy again. do this as many times as need be. i have asked if I could buy more or if they are gonna make me come back in numerous times. most let me buy what I want

Red Pandas, just because :-D
