Well he touched green last night. These numbers sure are strange. But I won't complain. I won't know if he gets there this morning but hopefully tonight will give me some indication if he is trending back down.

He was starving this morning. He followed me around the kitchen meowing the entire time I was getting his feeder ready. Not sure what that is about. He has been eating well and enthusiastically but this is a new behavior (in recent history).

Back to work for a day. I am grateful that I have a house to get ready in and an intact place of business to go to.

Wow! September 1st.

Here is a link to pictures I took on Wednesday. The first few are of the creek and the botanical gardens where we go and walk and I love to take pictures at. The last few are pictures I took the last time I went there (there is one of the creek at its normal level). This is the 4th-5th flood that has completely devastated the gardens. They have been unable to recover at all because any headway they make is destroyed by the next flood.

Okay, I could have done without the snake pic :eek:. The flowers were so beautiful. So sad to see so much devastation. I'm glad you and yours are okay, though. One of the FB peeps, Tena, lost everything (well not everything - she saved her cats so she has the most important stuff). We're having fires here, as usual this time of year, and people are losing their homes, too. It's always something, isn't it? I count my blessings every day. There but for the grace of God....

Gizmo, are you trying to freak Mama out, or just following the prime directive for cats - "keep the beans guessing"?

Where is she at? Please let me know if I can help her in any way (insulin/Lantus, syringes, food, etc). I am on the north side (Spring). I wish I could offer to take the cats but Gizmo doesn't play well with other animals. I also have a couple of carriers.

This. More than likely. He usually pretty predictive though.
 
I hope the green last night means Gizmo is getting back on track.

Wow on those pictures. The poor critters are just trying to find dry land too. I'm glad your home and place of work didn't get flooded. Sending more prayers.

They showed pictures of herds of deer standing on people's porches trying to get to the highest ground. What upsets me more than anything are idiots (not going to call the people) that leave their dogs chained up and livestock penned so the can't escape. :mad: :( At least turn them loose so they have a chance.

I saw a story about a reporter that rescued a dog that was tied to a pole and sitting in the flood waters. Thankfully the reporter came along when he did and cared enough to do something.

Cotton Mouth/Water Moccasin.

We have them all over the area. Quite a few have been found in our back yard along with Coral Snakes. The Cotton Mouths we will take back to the forest (usually) if they are in the back yard. If they are in the front we kill them (too many kids around). The Coral snakes ALL get killed - they will kill if they bite, but they have very small mouths so rarely able to bite - but again due to the number of kids in the neighborhood they meet their maker. Hubby just killed a Coral snake that was about 2' long a couple of weeks ago - that is considered a very large Coral snake!
 
This cycle looks promising. :D
Those pictures are just heartbreaking ... and the poor animals that are left defenseless.:arghh::banghead:
