in Yesterday's New's we had some pretty numbers and some excitement. Today Booger seems to be back to her old ways and even higher than on some days. Hopefully she'll come back down soon..

Come on, Boog, bouncing really isn't necessary. Yellow should be reserved for the sun - not the spreadsheet.

Hope she breaks the bounce soon - I know how frustrating those darned ol' bounces are! :YMSIGH:

Thanks Shelly. Maybe she will listen to you. She likes to be called by her nickname (Boog)! Yes, it is frustrating especially after yesterday's nice activity..

I'm getting MORE than frustrated researching food options too.. I printed off the list from Dr. Pierson but as she mentioned she hasn't updated it in a while. It appears the companies have updated their foods, mostly for the negative. I have 2 civie kitties that could stand to lose a couple pounds and the Friskies didn't do them any favors there. I'm not going to feed them all fish either.... but I'm still looking!

Ah, fuds....the one big bane of many of our existences here. Much of Dr Lisa's list IS still good, even if it hasn't been updated in awhile. You can also always ask questions here, too...many folks have done research outside the list are we all love to share info and help in any way possible.

Have a great evening, guys!

She's starting to come back down some, yay! She must've listened to your advice!

Yes, for the most part it seems good.. and her website has been a great resource for me overall.. but I think the biggest two I had problems with were the Weruva and Nutro lines... it seems like they were backwards.. The Weruva were listed as lower than what the cans show and the Nutro as higher both carbs and fat.. and the Weruva was the one I had been considering. Now it seems back to the Nutro NC I go. And to be 100% honest, maybe I'm not doing it right, but I'm not terrible at math and everything works out correctly when I do my checks and balances. Weruva's website correlates to what the updated list shows but not to what the cans are showing.. that's what has me confused.. and the Nutro cans have changed as well.. they've changed their cans and I suspect their formulas. I'm trying to find something that's (roughly) >45% protein, <45% fat, and (definitely) <10% carbs (As per Dr. Pierson's website's recommendations). I called both companies to find out exactly what the numbers are with all the confusion I'm having but neither of them were in today. So, hopefully I'll find out why the discrepancies.. I am learning a lot about feline Diabetes and nutrition but I grow frustrated with the amount of resources for the kitties..

You are absolutely right that when the manufacturers change the labels the food composition usually has changed as well. You can't go by the numbers on the label though. THey are minimums and maximums and not dry matter or as fed. I helped compile a list for the CRF food list and it was exhausting trying to get the dry matter analysis from the companies. Helen, the owner of the list, had been updating her list but she refused help and by the time she finishes the info will be old. I haven't checked in several months to see if she changed any info on her food list but will now since Max and I are having a pj party.
