I'm liking the trend with that +2. Hopefully she'll decide to go ahead and visit the lagoon today. Since this weekend marks the end of summer, I think a swimming trip would be appropriate. ;-)

Furball is heading down. I don't know if she'll make it to the lagoon, but it looks like she'll have a nice surf today.

OT: I talked to a lady in my Sunday School class who works for my brother's insurance company, and she said him paying the deductible is normal. Everyone else agreed that is normal procedure for car insurance in WV. She said if my brother doesn't want to pay anything up front, his best bet is to go through the other driver's insurance company. Someone else suggested he could get a lawyer to help him deal with it all. It doesn't sound like it would make a difference to switch companies. They mentioned insurance really comes in handy if you are in an accident with an uninsured or underinsured driver. I guess that's what we're really paying for.

Looks like a nice surf today for Furball.

As for going through the other insurance company, my sister tried that one and had nothing but trouble when the body shop did a bad job and by then her company was no help. Once when I was renting a car I overheard someone complaining about not getting calls back from the other person's company. My company once suggested that and I said I pay for insurance to have YOU do the work, not me.

Carla, it's normal for car insurance in CA, too. Going through the other driver's company is way more trouble than it's worth. They aren't interested in helping you - they work for the other guy. Even though it's frustratingly slow, going through your company (or in this case, your brother's), is the best way to do it.

Very nice day for Furball. I hope you get a blue PMPS too.

We have mandatory car insurance here with just one supplier. Every one complains about that, but it's so much less hassle if you actually need to make a claim.

Very pretty slide Miss Furball! Hopefully she'll stay nice and flat headed into PM today.

How frustrating on the insurance! In MN, there's no hard and fast rule, but usually if liability is obvious, and you're not at fault, your insurer will cover the deductible and seek to get reimbursement from the insurer of the at-fault driver.

That's interesting that it varies so very much by state. Bummer that it's so difficult there and he has to pay the deductible. Geez.....
 
Furball had a nice blue surf today. I hope she'll keep surfing tonight.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on the car insurance. I've let my brother know what his options are, but it's up to him to decide what he's going to do.

Insurance....don't get me started....it's one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" things ....if you never use it, there's so many things that money could have been used for...if you do need it, they make it as difficult as possible and then raise your rates for making a claim. :evil:
