Yesterday's Condo

That word in the Subject Line and in his ss was hard to write. That's the second HI he's had in his 7 years of being a diabetic and the other one was less than 2 weeks ago. Whew..

Last Night:
188 PMPS
108 +5
246 +7.75

He ate his normal meals last evening, and then when I woke up this morning all of the leftover food from yesterday was eaten (so he cleaned up all the bowls). I gave him some boiled chicken breast for 1st Breffis, and he is up and about, wanting to go outside, drinking, peeing, wanting more food. I guess I'll get dressed and take him for a walk and then give him 2nd Breffis.

Re: 08/30 J.D. AMPS HI, +1 521

Thank you.

He seems to feel fine. He's up and about, and I know he's more hungry. It's hard to feed him when he's so high, but he has to eat.

Off to get ready for tbp...

J.D., what's going on dude? Time to get to work and get those numbers back down! Boy, you said he was a bouncer, but WOW!

Hope the day holds some sliding numbers.

Come back down, J.D.!! Glad to hear he's feeling good, despite the numbers. Yep, always feed a hungry kitty!!!

Have a great day, Diana - enjoy this gorgeous weather!

Come on down JD! I have seen that HI more than a few times before and it makes your heart drop through your stomach. Hugs to you! I hope he comes down soon and gets something to eat. Poor guy. Funny how they don't notice how high they are and don't know what the fuss is all about.

Have a great day Dyana!

Re: 08/30 J.D. AMPS HI, +1 521

Oh JD! Come down from there!

I wonder if higher BGs like this can be some kind of clue that maybe he's got some mild pancreatitis? I dunno...just a guess. Did he feel ok last time his numbers were high?

Hope everything is ok.

Most of the left out food from the afternoon was not eaten, which is often the case.

J.D. was there to greet me when I came home from work, and was acting normal. He wanted to go outside, but I had company, and then went for a swim, and he just hasn't been interested in eating his food. He did eat some bites of the boiled chicken breast, but then didn't want anymore. I just gave him his Ondansetron and Pepcid and added some cypro.

Hi Dyana,
I hope you can figure out if anything is bothering J.D. When Rusty had a mild case of pancreatitis his bgs went up and his appetite went down (but he would always eat FF T&G, so that's what he got). J.D. eat your fuds!!

Let's hope that by tomorrow all is back to normal. Have a good evening, Dyana.

Ella & Rusty

come on J.D.
eat yur fuds.

Someone said shrimp early in the post. J.D. likes them???
I add 2 every preshot meal for mine to stay distracted while I shoot. Otherwise she wouldn't eat either.

Have you tried adding a shrimp to some food ?

Hey, Dyana -

Sorry J.D. started the day HI and has been having appy issues tonight. I hope whatever is going on will clear by tomorrow and he'll have nice numbers and a normal appetite. Have you seen "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs?" Sometimes I wish I had a monkey thought translator so Hershey could tell me what's going on. :YMSIGH:

Sleep well -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Sending lots of eating vines from us to you. Neko has plenty of eating energy and plenty extra to share. Sorry about the Hi this morning, we had quite a few in the early months. Sometimes I would test again with my back up meter because I knew it read the high numbers a little lower. When both tested Hi, it was pretty disheartening.

Wendy - that's a good idea. I got a second monitor as a backup and tried it a few times with the same drop of blood to compare. I didn't think about doing it when he's low as a confirmation in case a strip is bad, not enough blood, etc. If I warm his ear up and give some good squeezes, I get enough blood to slip both meters in there one after the other before he knows what's happening. I like.
