? 08/30 Fistuk, AMPS 202, PMPS 434, Ketones what to od??

The colour was between the third and fourth
I think I would ring the vet you trust the most and tell him the urine result and ask if you can bring him in to get some fluids and a blood test to check the electrolytes are ok. Hopefully you won’t need to leave him there. I think it would be wise to do that.
Take the insulin and some food with you so you are not stuck there with him not eating and getting the next dose of insulin.

I took a photo but I'm unable to upload a photo here. tried drag and drop too didn't work
Easiest to copy and paste a photo.
What do your think about ringing the vet? Don’t let them fob you off. Insist you need to come on. It’s much better to catch it all now than let it get worse.

As far as they are concerned they will always take me in. The system here is to treat e like an idiot who doesn't know anything and to scar the **** out of me. They're unable to work together with me as a client and only tell me what's not possible and what's wrong....

Just called their emergency line. Was told they'll check and get back to me cause they had another call.
He's fast asleep now I'd hate to wake him up. He was really stressed by the SubQ earlier. I then cuddled him and he relaxed into sleep

I’m glad you rang. The problem is the ketones can increase very quickly if not treated. He needs some fluids to flush the ketones out and you don’t have any needles left. You might ask them for a couple of needles to ride you over til the others arrive for the subQFluids.
Ask for a blood test to check the electrolytes and ask for some fluids.

I don't think I'll have anyone to talk to before opening times, in 2.5 hours.

I'll call the local vet (not the hospital where he was last treated for ketones) see if they're willing to do so

He's just woken up in a startle I think from a bad dream. I really need to find a way to make this subQ less traumatising for him
he's eaten really well now. I added few more scones of water in the food. I think I'll go to sleep for about an hour

Is BG going down a bit?

I would not go back to sleep. We need to get him seen by the vet and get some fluids into him and a blood test done. Have they rung back yet?

they won't open until 2.5 hours
I called earlier to the emergency line. if they didn't get back to me from experince it tells me they're not worried about me and they're attending other emergencies and calling again wouldn't make a difference. that's from my xperince with them

I'm going to try catch sleep for an hour and half, the we'll be up for breakfast and showing time. By which i could call the vet and ask to come to get fluids and blood test.

He's purring and had a good 40g food in with some added water. I'd be curious to check his urine if he donates some before BF.

I'll keep posting as soon as we're awake

I’m glad he ate well for you just now. That is really good and you managed to add some fluids.
Try and get an hours sleep then and if you can get another urine test in before AMPS, that would be great.
I would ring the local vet as soon as he opens and tell him you are bringing him in now (if the ketones are still up.)
We’ll talk again after you have had a nap.
