Well, Milo had a good night (it would appear since I went to sleep and didn’t wake up!) His appetite is good this morning and he had his shot 15 mins early to try and get his schedule back on track.

As for OneDrop @Sue and Luci, they have put their prices WAYYY up since last year apparently. The lowest I could get for unlimited strips was $79.99 USD per month ($108 CAD). Yikes. But like I said, I can switch to the $49.99 UDS (100 strips/month) after I have extra strips. It’s a big expense but I just paid $85+ tax CAD for 100 strips for the Contour and I’ll blow through those in less than a month... it’s still the better way to go at the moment. Too bad they changed their pricing. They were not willing to give any deals except drop the $8 shipping price on the initial package (when they say “free shipping” in their promos!!)

I’m glad you slept. I’m always a little bit nervous when I say I don’t think someone needs more tests and can call it a night. We are dealing with cats after all! Not a shabby AMPS either. Have a great day!

I am still trying to get comfortable making these decisions on my own. I appreciate your expertise especially with it being at night with a new scenario like that.
He’s great today, up wandering around, hungry, with a nice AMPS. Yay!

Looks like a nice green surf! :D If Milo drops below 50 you may need to add a higher carb food, but the numbers posted here and what you are doing so far look good to me :)

Hope you are having a good day!

Thanks! I feel like I should just keep him going with the raw as I think he’s hit his nadir and is heading back up in his own. I’d like to not boost him artificially if it’s not really necessary.
I hope all of you are doing well. I have had a pleasant day and not stressed about Milo at all. I feel good about all the food and supplies I picked up. I also feel like I have a lot more idea what I’m doing.
OneDrop arrived today (that was FAST! It turns out I didn’t need to pick up the extra Contour strips but I didn’t want to take a chance...). I also received the auto feeder and calipers. There’s another learning curve...
Have a good evening everyone.

I live an hour from any centre so we have to be prepared here...for humans and animals. Milo is presenting that extra level of "special" to pandemic preparedness! Honestly, over the years I have almost lost him to various ailments at least a dozen times. Every time (knock on wood) he seems to come back... He's quite a challenge but such a special guy I have to do everything I can for him. My sons and I are soooooo attached to the little dude.

I have a video I saved about using calipers but I need to research my type of syringes to know for sure about dosing. I'm going to give myself a few days to sort it out, as well as the new meter.

Wow....it looks like Cosmo gets some high numbers. I hope he comes down for you! You certainly seem to know what you are doing! Thanks for all the help!

LOL. Cosmo likes Rollercoasters. He is the ultimate bouncer  Trying to regulate him and teach his pancreas and liver to get along. He eats HC wet and dry to treat his megacolon is extra... Special

Wow! I love your level of preparation! I know @Butters & Lyla just started using calipers. She may have some advice!

:) Yes, after one extremely frustrating week and one much less frustrating week using calipers, I have advice if you want it, @Sam&Milo&Singha . Hopefully you don’t have the same BD syringes. Pretty sure those were the cause of most of my problems.

I never got the tag notification. I can post some info tomorrow. I have instructions on how you can determine the measurements of doses for your syringe type, and have you seen Marje’s video? And get a light board or a light box, like what Marje uses in the video. And an eye loupe or magnifying glass.

I have watched the video (I think it's Marje's) a few times. I use Sol-vet syringes (u-100, 0.3 ml, 30Gx1/2" (0.3mmx12.5mm). Do you have any idea of the caliper settings for these syringes??
