I almost typed "Hurricane Gizmo" in my title - lol.

Oh, I so want to just skip to next Wednesday:arghh:. Reports are saying 25-50" of rain:banghead:. We haven't had any yet. Last night it was nice and windy and it was swirling from all directions. Like I said, we are as prepared as we possibly can be with a days notice.

Going to work but heard yesterday they won't be keeping us all day (Geesh, ya think?). Sometimes I really wonder about the leadership at the company. SMH.

I increased Gizmo's cycle food quantity. He just seems like he is always hungry. He will lay in front of the feeder starting an hour before it is due to turn (or sooner). And I would like a bit more weight on him. We will see how that goes.

TGIF??? Not sure :bighug:

I hope the increase in good quantity helps keep Gizmo from being so hungry all of the time. Hopefully Harvey will move through faster than they are predicting and you won't get as much rain. I hope they let you leave early. Sending prayers.

Sending prayers! Hopefully you get to come home early and stay safe. Keep us updated if you can. Hoping Gizmo's hunger is better with the increase in food. :bighug:

Be careful and stay safe! :bighug:
Good luck getting through Harvey safely!

Thank you! :bighug: Still stuck at work. Last minute panic is setting in (management). I am just doing busy work - killing time.

What is the most rain you ever had there? Please keep us updated.
Probably Allison (at least in recent history). It was a tropical storm that slowly moved in from the gulf and sat over us for two days, then moved about 60 miles north and then moved back over us for a couple more days before finally moving out to the east coast. It was a mess.

This say 40" - I just know that it hit the night before my birthday and we were surrounded by water on all sides and couldn't go anywhere for 4 days. Probably going to be much the same this time.

Here are photos from Allison.

Wow, I can't even imagine. Those pictures are insane. Thinking of you and praying that this doesn't turn out to be as major as they are predicting. Stay safe!

Those pictures are insane
Ike's destruction was much worse. Wind, flooding, fire (quite a few houses and boats burned) but it was primarily along the coast - and power loss.

This is the main freeway heading south to the causeway onto Galveston island. We went down a month later to fish (vacation) and there were still boats in fields and across roads. There were coconuts on the beach (we don't have coconuts in TX) and entire sides of houses laying buried in the sand on the beach. The weird thing was one had a window that wasn't broke.

How close was the water surrounding your house from Allison?
Closest is at the entrance to our sub-division (~1 mile). Cypress Creek. Then north is Spring Creek (~2 miles). Then the San Jacinto runs to the north of us (~4 miles) and wraps around to the east of us. Then there are the numerous bayous and drainage ditches that, giving this much rain, just can't keep up. We are way in the back of the sub-division and elevation climbs all the way to the back (from the creek). We have had minor street flooding but never anything that threatened our house.

Stay safe Lizzie:bighug::bighug::bighug:
Thank you :bighug: We will be alright. Maybe a little warm and a little wet, but we should be ok. :)

Hope Giz enjoys his extra fuds.
Oh, boy did he. The mixture had a new food also, so not only did he get more, he got a new flavor - he was done in record time (and that included licking the bowl completely clean).
