Will be interesting to see where this goes @ +3 - then all bets are off as he will sky rocket :banghead:.. Gizmo has an appointment for blood draw to check his anemia. Dr. Stone (IM) wants full panel to check all levels of everything. Last full panel was 05/29 so this is 3 months after build up/maintenance of Epogen and three weeks of being on the potassium on a regular basis. So, no vetty visit just up for the tech to take his blood.

I have not been this tired in a long, long time. Usually I am awake before the alarm goes off but not this morning. In fact, I was so deep in sleep I incorporated the alarm into my sleep - lol.

Hopefully there will be a nap in my future this afternoon. Off to take a shower.

He just threw up his +2.5 snack. He is def nauseated. Gave him Cerenia and Ondan. Have to leave in about 30 min. Testing in about 10 min.
 
We are back. He did ok. Hasn't eaten anything yet since pukus but showed interest. Going to give it a bit and see if I can get him to eat. Going to back off the potassium for now. See what his level on the bw and go from there.

Per their scale he lost a pound since he was in last time but I weighed him when I got home and he was 11# 7oz so just a couple oz down from last Sunday. Again, maybe his eating will improve without the potassium.

He pee'ed in his carrier and there is blood in his urine again :(.

The u/s showed a spot in his bladder. Small. Without a biopsy unknown what it is. We think that is the cause.

From the report...

Urinary Bladder: There is a persistent polypoid soft tissue density in the dorsal bladder wall that measured 5 mm x 13
mm. Scant blood flow is documented into this lesion. Urine was obtained via cystocentesis with no immediate
complications.

Impression: The lesion in the urinary bladder is persisting and contains blood flow at its base. This may be an
indicator of a soft tissue mass or polyp with blood clot associated with the surface. Although it possible this lesion may
purely be a blood clot from previous cystocentesis, the duration of its presence is more worrisome for an actual polyp
or mass.

Got him to eat about an oz of food with 1/2 Canna added. He has drank from his bowl two times since the vets. Going to let the food settle and give him a bit of pain meds and then let him be until +11.

Thanks Beth. That is my plan, at least till PM cycle. Have to go to the grocery store so going to try and get that done right after I shoot tonight.
 
Sounds like it very well could be from a previous cystocentesis. That was the concern draining the cyst of the fluid on Forrest today that the kidney would get nicked and then it would cause a bleed. She described it to me as if your cut our hand and then kept the hand under water, it would not heal.

History:
AMPS=158, +3=146, +5=223, +11=197

Ate really well. Finished his PS food in record time and then I didn't even see him eating his fishy treat with the Canna afterward. I did give him another 1/2 Ondan at +11 with his BP meds.

No potassium added to his food (I do think this may be the cause of this mornings pukas).

Ravan had a Cystocentesis months ago. They poked him 3 times till they got urine. When he got home he could barely walk. He doesn't have blood in his urine but every time he pees he lays down stretched out like it might hurt.

Now he leaks small amounts of urine every time he lays down. After reading your post I'm wondering if he had damage to his bladder or kidney from the Cystocentesis?

What type of test showed the lesion? An ultrasound? I asked my vet & he said No that won't show what's wrong. I think he doesn't want to admit they injured him.

Except they noted blood flow to it and he is having blood in the urine again. Last time he went for bw he pee'ed and it was completely clear. Not even a tinge of color. Now I do not know if they did a urinalysis today, if they did then that might explain the blood today.
