Eating/appy remains great! I don't know what to think of the carb issue with Wholly Cow. He has one 3oz can mixed in to his current mixture and still getting these numbers (and it isn't part of the mixture every time). I am also concerned that, if indeed, it does have the higher phos - is that what is causing his itching/shedding. He really, really likes it and I don't have plans to discontinue right now. The amount he is getting overall is very small in relations to the whole mixture. He will also be going back for blood work in early October so I think that will be a good indicator.

My friend/co-worker is due to return today. She is going to her doctor this morning and anticipates being released for work and is planning to be in this afternoon. YAY!!

Hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Did the itching and shedding coincide with the new food?
Maybe? It also started when he started eating good, feeling good and much more active. The shedding isn't any worse than when he was younger - he has always left the Maine Coon puffs of fur all over the house when he is active (which he is much more now).

You know, when they sit down and scratch a bit and the hair comes out on their claws and then they walk off an leave it? He is grooming more lately too.

You don't realize they quit doing stuff when they aren't feeling 100% and then when they start doing it (again) it's like, oh, yeah, that again. LOL.

Glad Gizmo is still doing good. That's so frustrating about wholly cow. I think I am just going to avoid it (since I haven't started feeding it yet). I think I'm leaning towards tiki cat (at least for some of their feedings). Glad your coworker is returning this afternoon (hopefully). I'm sure that is a relief and much less stress for you.

Make sure you check for fish/fish juice in the Tiki you get - almost all Tiki food it in some form.
Thanks for the heads up. I was looking at Puka puka luau and koolina luau. It says on the food chart no fish, but I will definitely double check the labels. I almost bought another Friskies flavor with fish. Who would have thought poultry platter would have fish in the ingredient list?!:blackeye: They are currently eating Friskies mixed grill (chicken and turkey) and love it. It is slightly lower phosphorus (not low enough but small baby steps) and no fish.
