He has been on 100% LC for only 12 hours. I guess you will know in a day or two if he will need insulin.Right? I didn't expect to be so close! At this point, I know it's above 100. I know that technically falls in the range of 80-120mg/dl but we want it under 100 right?
Would continuing the LC possibly do that or does he need a bit of insulin still to remedy that? Or is under 120 fine pre-meal?

Ideally, you want him comfortably under 100, so if that means a little insulin support for a few days...it would give you a strong remission.
Yes. Maybe 0.25U from tomorrow morning.+9 160. Time to start insulin again.

The Lantus depot needs to build again. Let's re-evaluate the dose after 6 cycles on it. By then, he would have been on 100% LC long enough. We gave him 0.25u tonight. +6.5 he's only ~15 lower than before.![]()

ETA:
When you first use a syringe, push the plunger all the way in to see if it lines up with the printed zero line. A lot of syringes have their markings way off and that affects the accuracy of the dose. Especially with smaller doses every little bit matters.
That is a correcttly marked syringe. When you have the needle pointed up, the very top of the plunger should align with top of the zero line.like the bottom on in the second set of pictures.
