It's my understanding that sometimes the bg number will rise before the onset of lantus insulin.

Two possible explanations, both involve a bounce. Option 1, she is still bouncing from those greens a couple days ago. Numbers wobble around during a bounce. Bounces can take six cycles to resolve, today is cycle six. Option 2, she went lower last night and you did no night tests so that is just a guess.

In either scenario, the solution is to hold the dose for seven days as per SLGS unless she goes below 90 again. Have patience and try not to over analyze every cycle. It will drive you crazy. My girl was very bouncy too.

Thank you so much for your thoughts. I don't think she's ever been higher and staying high like now after 3 or 7 hours before tho. She usually clears a bounce in two days, but no I didn't test last night as I needed the sleep :( I guess I am over analyzing and it is stressing me to no end. Again, thank you both!

FD is very stressful. I hope you do something for you when you can, some hobby or exercise to distress.:bighug:

I see she is asthmatic are you treating with a steroid oral or inhaled? Oral will increase the BG's.

In addition to the explanations that Wendy provided, there are two additional possibilities. The first may be that the dose reduction isn't holding -- it could be a failed reduction.

The other possibility is that all time favorite.... Martini is being a cat and therefore is being unpredictable. If there is ever a "rule" that we can reliably apply is that as soon as you think you know how your cat is responding to insulin, your cat will do something that makes absolutely no sense and causes you to question your sanity.
