Hi everyone! I hope your kitties are doing very well and, above all, feeling loved and cherished
Hi Christie, I’m opening this condo especially to reply to you; I was so happy to receive your message. Thank you for the kindness all the way from Canada. It was received with a smile and with affection in my heart.
Mami Cat should be coming home today (August 11). She had two Mycoplasma infections acting together in January 2026, but now only one has been detected by PCR (fortunately), which made her condition still delicate, but somewhat milder than last time. The anemia was quite severe, but this time it is not immune-mediated, thank God (plus maybe I managed to get her help in time). She was in real pain and feeling nauseous. She is recovering and doing much better. The first time, she had to use steroids, which is what started the whole blood glucose saga. // The renal changes have appeared recently and concern me a little, as they are new to her clinical picture. EPO has also been started, and she needs B9 supplementation, as her levels are low. This is also related to another small but important issue she has, which is a mild inflammation in her intestines that I need to monitor. // As for the lab work, I’ll take some time later to update her spreadsheet here... thank you so much. There are indeed so many tests and so much data. I always try to stay organized and study everything, but looking at it all laid out neatly in a table may really help with visualization.
She is still taking one drop of Lantus. I personally give it to her twice every day at the clinic. I think her BG will improve again once she is back home... Whenever it gets higher like this, it’s when she doesn’t eat during the night (+9).
Thank you for the kindness and for the hug

(((Clarice))), thinking of you and Mami Cat. I didn’t see a recent post, so I just wanted to send some extra special healing thoughts from Canada. Is Mami Cat home with you now? I always got copies of lab work and results from the vet, and kept track of the trends and changes over time. There is a section in the spreadsheet where you can enter in the lab results and it is easier to see changes and out of normal results. There are a few folks here who have some good familiarity with understanding lab work so if you’d like some help, let us know. An infection can elevate BG numbers; I see you’ve started Marbofloxacin, hoping that and the EPO to treat the anemia will help her feel better soon![]()
