Thank you all so much for all your help and support. It means so much to me, it has really helped me stay sane, too! If I missed anyone, please forgive me; it doesn't lessen my appreciation for you! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I hope to hear something from the vet in the next couple of hours. I will post the news as soon as I can.

Just spoke to the specialist. The mass is larger than we thought, but it seems to be the only one. She thinks she got enough cells for a good biopsy; we should know the results by Monday. She says it is just possible that it is benign but, given her experience, she suspects it's cancer. However, we do seem to have some treatment options, including some type of chemo, or even removal of the mass. I will talk to his regular vet and see what he thinks is the best plan of action. So, not the best news, but a little better than my darkest fears.

The specialist said what an incredibly sweet and cooperative cat Squallie was - makes a mama proud. :):cat:

I had absolutely no doubt that Squallie would melt hearts! I'm still holding out hope for a good outcome. In the meantime, I'm glad that the news we have so far wasn't worst case scenario. Still rooting for you two!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

praying it is benign, and that he comes home ravenous!!
Relief he is on his way home, Lucy
one thing - I always use the occasion of Murphy getting shaved to easily shoot the insulin in the shaved areas, where it is very easy to see
:bighug::bighug:

Thank you for the update. Of course we all hope for the best outcome, and will send those very positive healing and loving energies to that little fur person. Also, these energies grow in transit, and overflow to Squallie's momma bean.

Way to go Squallie! We knew you'd be the perfect gentleman. Glad it's not the worse news so glad you have options. Extra scritches for Squallie and :bighug::bighug: for you. Sending vines for the best results!!

Well. Uhh…not felling as optimistic after talking to my vet. I don't really understand, because some of the things she told him seem to contradict what she told me. According to him, she said it looks very aggressive, and may already have spread to his lymph nodes. His colon is badly damaged and could perforate, or just stop functioning. Between them they think we're looking at a matter of weeks. Doesn't seem to feel that any treatment will be helpful. Wow. I am devastated. I'm not ready to lose him. He is my ❤️ !

So sorry to see this! Maybe you should talk to her again; she must've had her reasons for saying there were possible treatment options. Seems like he's spinning it toward what could happen but not necessarily what will. Is she the one you'll speak with on Monday?

Many benign vines for sweet Squallie.

:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: Lucy:bighug::bighug::bighug: Sounds like a talk with US tech might clear things up....or is your regular vet saying worst case scenario just cos that’s what they sometimes do . These two prognosis don’t match at all ...Monday will help give definitive info . How is our buddy Squallie doing ? Prayers to you both ❤️❤️❤️

(((Lucy))), Let's hope it is just your vet's way of dealing with such things. Wait until the test results come back before you think the worst. Don't forget that Squallie is your wonderful kitty and he needs to be loved on and pampered and to know that his great mamabean is there for him. Lots of vines for the best possible outcome.
:bighug::bighug::bighug:s for you and lots of scritches for your boy,

That terrific jump he just made tells you a lot about how he is feeling. Carry on, Deputy Squallie!

I will be dealing with my vet after today. I don't know why the specialist put a more positive spin on things, maybe she thought my own vet should be the one to break the bad news. I did tell her I would appreciate her honest opinion. I thought I got it!

:) :) :)...show em, Squallie !!! I really like what Lizzie said “ one step st a time “. I have reread what was said and I see words “looks like”..” may already...”could”. Like Ella, let’s see what Monday brings . I respect the medical community but sometimes they’re as good at scaring the bejiggers out of us as they are treating the problem . :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you, Ella! He always knows he is my sweet, wonderful baby, and that his mama is there for him. He knows he is my ❤️!

Thanks, Beth. You're right; I've avoided the nasty C more times than I can count, and surprised all my doctors. I hope Squallie can do the same.

Lucy! I know all too well exactly what you're feeling right now. To put it mildly, it sucks! I remember getting the call from the hospital after Grandpa's US where they asked if I wanted them to "let him go" based on what they were seeing - and I considered it for a minute. It's scary, sad, and well every bad word.

Now, that being said, someone told me years ago that where there's life, there's hope. I keep that in mind at times like this. Right now Squallie is there in front of you jumping around and very much alive. That's what matters. No one knows what tomorrow will bring for any of us or our critters. All we can do is the next best thing in front of us.

Today you're probably on an emotional roller coaster. I hope you can get up tomorrow, take a deep breath, and try not to think too much ahead. When a doc now talks to me about prognisis and time estimates, I don't pay any attention. I wont let it color my enjoyment of today. As a result, the todays keep coming and we celebrate each as a gift.

Hugs!!!!!

I'm sorry you're getting conflicting statements from the two vets. Try not to dwell on the worst case scenario. The others are right. Squallie is with you right now and feeling good. Enjoy being with him. The vets don't know everything. My civvie Callie (GA) that had stomach cancer lived for 1 1/2 years with it and they wanted me to put her to sleep right away. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Squallie doesn't even know he's sick. I just watched him make a 5-6 foot jump up to a slick surface that I would have doubted he could make even at the best of times!

Way to go Stripey Man. You show 'em and keep on sorting those pesky IMs.

I do not know what a US is L and so I am behind on what is properly happening with you both as little wifi about the past couple of weeks. Just know that me & Ty hold you & Squallie close as we can .
