Yesterday's Condo

Last Night:
436 PMPS
361 +4
415 +7

I stayed up way too late last night and I guess I was too tired this morning, because at +1.5 this morning, all of a sudden I couldn't remember 100% if I gave J.D. his shot or not :-| . I remember testing him, and I remember feeding him, and then I know I sat down at my desk to post in his ss and log into FDMB. I think.. I remember drawing the dose.. and I think.. I remember giving him the shot, but I do not remember taking the insulin out of the refrigerator or putting it back when done. UG! I just have to hope I was half asleep when I took the insulin out and put it back.

He has eaten well today so far, and I guess because I said in his yesterday's condo that his bounce would probably be short and he would probably be green again today, he is not, because he's a cat.

I'm going btb for a bit.

Re: 08/04 J.D. AMPS 397, +2 406

I hope you did give J.D. his shot and you're just too sleepy to remember. At least J.D. is allowing you to go btb and get some needed sleep.

Re: 08/04 J.D. AMPS 397, +2 406

Ugh, I hate when I can't remember if I did something 2 minutes ago, either. Hopefully you gave J.D. his shot...sounds like you need some rest!

Re: 08/04 J.D. AMPS 397, +2 406

I hope so, too, everything was done and you were just too sleepy to remember. I've done something similar, too, when too sleepy. Sounds like you need that btd. Have a nice Sunday.
Thanks for your vines and good thoughts for Mags yesterday.

Hi Dyana.
I hope you had a good btb time.
Hopefully J.D. got his shot.
I'm glad his appetite is good!

Re: 08/04 J.D. AMPS 397, +2 406, +4.5 171, +5 131, +6.75 75

I did give him a drop of R at +2, but didn't want to post about it as J.D. is on Levemir and because he is on Levemir his nadirs should be later (although they haven't been much lately that I can see) than if the kitty were using Lantus.
For any lurkers out there, giving R at +2 if a cat is on Lantus could be dangerous as the nadirs of the two insulins (Lantus and R) could happen at the same time and you could get a drop that would be very difficult to manage.

Re: 08/04 J.D. AMPS=397 +2=406 +4.5=171 +5=131 +6.75=75 +8=7

Nice rainbow kitty today! Looks like more than just R at work.

Neko is on Lantus but often nadirs like Levemir. I think they just like to keep us guessing.

Re: 08/04 J.D. +6.75 75, +8 73, +10 242

Hi Dyana

Ooh, isn't that awful when you can't remember if you did something? I always take forever to toss the empty syringe wrapper, so I at least know that I unwapped it.
J.D. is looking good, either way.
I hope you got enough sleep finally.
Dyana , thank you so much for answering my questions yesterday about R. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, family just left.

Re: 08/04 J.D. +6.75 75, +8 73, +10 242

Dyana, I always have a hard time remembering things and always worried about forgetting, so I made it a habit to write down (in the notebook where I keep record of his BG) what time I gave the shot, and the dose that I gave. I think thats what happens when beans dont get enough sleep - we tend to forget things!

Hope you get some extra sleep tonight and feel rested tomorrow.

Nice little surf for JD! Glad to hear his appy is good today :-D

Have a great evening!

I used to have "a system" that I used to years, where in the morning I would place two new syringes on the counter.
Once I dosed in the morning, I would place the used syringe next to the remaining new syringe.
If I all of a sudden couldn't remember if I gave the dose in the morning, I could go look at the counter and see that one of the syringes was used.
After I gave him PM dose, I would throw both syringes into the sharps container.
If I all of a sudden couldn't remember if I gave the dose in the evening, I could go look at the counter and if both syringes were gone, then I gave the dose.

I've kind of gotten away from that habit.

Since, J.D. went up so much between +11 and PMPS and since I will be home tomorrow, I went ahead and gave him zero line (about 1 and 1/2 drops) of R since he is rising so fast. Hopefully, that will help with slowing the bounce.
Once I gave the R, I felt a wet spot on his side and smelled my hand and it smelled like Levemir. I know (hope) it couldn't have been a fur shot (because I so rarely give fur shots) hope..
