YESTERDAY

Earlier this afternoon he seemed to be feeling better. He was at 365 and tried to steal my cheeseburger. I gave him a can of food and he ate well. Now it's time for his dinner and shot and I had to go get him from the bedroom. Normally he runs to his dinner spot. He won't eat. I even offered the meat from my burger warmed up. He chewed a few and spit them out. He's at 519, but I'm afraid to shoot. Thoughts?

I think you can safely give insulin. Try getting a small snack into him over the next few hours.

Still no luck with food. Just tested his urine. At least no ketones. I sure hope this is just a side effect from the worm meds. He's not himself at all.

Thanks for your help, as always. Goodnight.

I sprinkle Whiskas Temptations in Noah's food as a last resort, they raise his BS. Sometimes I just move his dish, brush his tuxedo and pull his tail. Sounds like a joke but it always works. Noah is on a sliding scale at night, usually 2/3 of his usual shot.
Hopefully Grandpa is just having an off night. We all have them. Here's a scritch Grandpa  o_O :)

Last night the Temptations worked. Tonight no luck. He goes to see what is being offered, but won't try. The odd thing is he ate like crazy this afternoon.

As I write this, he is eating some Pure Bites freeze dried salmon. At least it's something.

I am sorry Grandpa isn't eating well. It could be a combo of the dewormer and the worms. In appetence is also one of the symptoms of worms. They can either eat like crazy or not want to eat at all.

The last time Bubba had worms it raised his BG also. He would cry when I picked him up if I put too much on his tummy. It's got to make them feel like crap.

I hope the de wormer does it's magic and he's back in business soon.

I haven't, but may give that a try. Thanks!
When my cats wouldn’t eat any cat food they often would eat Gerbers. I never had luck with Beechnut but ECID. It’s also all protein except for cornstarch (if you get meat only seconds which is the only one to get) and easy to finger feed or syringe if necessary.
