Still need to get her weight down, so am now omitting 0.10 oz. from each feeding today, making her total intake for each day 5.4 oz. of Evo, and 2 oz. steamed chicken for her midday meals. Still weighs 12.5 lbs. as of this morning.

As far as the heat... We had a record high of 110 yesterday, and we'll be there again today, too. Yesterday afternoon, the shade temperature was already 100 by noon. This weather is ridiculous. I hope that everyone stays safe and cool.

MY WISH: For God to help those who are ailing make a full and speedy recovery... For God to help heal the broken hearts of those who lost a beloved pet and/or human... For everyone to have great #s... For everyone to be OTJ.

Good luck on the weight loss efforts! We're getting a break today... "Only" 95 degrees and a spot of rain! The heat is indeed miserable!

I can't remember if I actually fed her +3 before this post, as I was in the process of making dinner. I think I forgot, and remember @ 9:15 a.m. IF I did, then ooppss... She got an extra 0.90 oz. today, and I'll start over tomorrow.

Hi guys .. very nice start to the day blackie, I like these low blues on you .. hope you guys get some much needed rain/relief from the heat .. I couldn't live with temps over 100 for very long .. have a great day and stay cool guys!

Is Blackie big boned? I'm asking b/c Junior is 13lb 9oz and alot of people have remarked how underweight he looks. ECID I guess!

Good luck on Blackie's diet, every girl is concerned about her weight and wonders, will that food go straight to her hips??? :lol: :lol: Leo hasn't weighed 12 lbs since he was a kitten! Is Blackie overweight?

According to the weight chart for cats, Blackie's a 6. She has a waistline, but not like the cat in 5. She has some fat over her shoulders, too, and the back of her neck (and I read Dr. Lisa's website on obesity). Ideally, I think she should weigh 11 lbs., and not 12.5 as originally thought. I think 10.5 lbs. may be a bit less for her, also. I'll get her down to 11 lbs., and see what she looks like then. I don't want her obese as that can cause problems, too. Besides, obesity and diabetes in humans aren't good, nor would it be good for animals.

The amount of food currently given as of this evening (PMPS +2): 0.93 oz. = 26 grams

Thankfully, my digital scale as grams, which makes it a bit easier to give the correct amount of fuds.

She'll always be getting the same amount of steamed chicken, which is 1.0 oz. for her midday snacks.

That is quite a drop at the +3! Blackie is saying "please feed me more food"! Good luck on the weight loss thing. My civvie Cleo, has lost 4 pounds in the last couple of years and she still looks fat because her tummy is so big. Cats are like people, some have all their weight in the middle and no matter what they do, they can't lose that extra padding. Cleo will always looks plump because of her big tummy and tiny head.

She's rising, and she's being a bit more active. In fact, she's jumped up onto my footstool at 3x. LOL And, she did something that she hasn't done in a very, very long time. She used to lower her front end to the ground, and raise her butt end for back (NOT butt) scratches before she was diagnosed. She did that very same thing this evening. I think my Blackie is coming back. :-D
