Hi all, Willow has something going on...Not sure what but she's not right (even more so/differently than her "usual" not right!) and her numbers are up. My SS is UTD but not uploaded to the internet...I'll try to do that today.

Will be making an apt at the vet today, hoping I can get in, and hoping for "our" vet. Both are a stretch at short notice.

Please keep her in your thoughts.

I'll update when I have news,

I hope you and your kitties are doing well. I don't post frequently, but read daily and think of you all, with love, Nikki.

Sending healing energies your way - I hope whatever is going on with Willow is something that can be easily remedied...and sending good vetty vines too!:bighug:

Thinking of you and Willow today! I am so happy you were able to get an appointment with your vet, what a relief,... Here's hoping that whatever is going on with Willow has an easy solution :)

sending positive vibes and vetty vines... good luck today :) :bighug:

.Not sure what but she's not right

What is she doing that's "not Right" ? Ravan's BG went up a few weeks ago & he was barely eating. I was very worried that his Kidney disease was getting worse. I had a Blood panel done & everything was OK! Even his Kidney disease is stable!

Sometimes we just don't know why they go off their food & don't feel so good.:(
How old is Willow now? Maybe it's just age related? ( I have days like that now too ! )

I hope everything is OK. Let us know. :bighug:

Thank you all so very much!

Good news with Willow...Another (or the same ongoing) UTI, this time we're treating for a full 30 days with baytril, because there is always a massive improvement on baytril, I just don't think we've ever treated long enough. We have an appointment in 3 weeks to discuss pulse therapy or continuing low dose batril long term...We'll see. Never manage a cysto because she always pees en route.

Also did full radiographs which showed lots of stool yet to come, and gas (which I suspected because of my "Willow's poop diary"...So we're starting her on cisipride for motility since the lactulose just isn't cutting it anymore.

The rads also showed Big Kidney Little Kidney....Her left is shrivelled...Which is no real surprise. Ever since I went on Tanya's CRF site and read of kidney stones and BKLK, I intuited/felt that *that* was the cause of her kidney failure. So I am very interested to do her blood work at our next appointment and see how her kidneys are functioning now, and am seriously considering a phosphorus binder.... Especially since she'll be on cisipride so I won't be as worried about constipation. Also, to see if the jarrows b-right is improving her PCV/HCT.

Willow's numbers really spiked yesterday and today into the high 7s/low 8s (130s!!) which is why I was so worried (she's well regulated normally)...I'll hold off increasing the Lantus dose because I think the Baytril should bring her down in a day or so, and she was hitting 3s (60s) on the current dose. Unless I should do otherwise?

I'll update my SS by hitting a wifi in a few hours.

I'll really miss this vet when we move at the end of the month....

Again, thanks so much for your positivity and prayers....Love you all!!!

With love and gratitude, Nikki

PS I was hesitant to add this, but I feel I should...The intuitive healer we had an appointment with last month also mentioned that Willow had a funky/not right kidney. We've called her before, and Fred and Willow (and me lol) always have a noticible improvement in attitude/health after a session. Just in case anyone is looking for a medical intuitive healer for themselves or their pets :) I swear by Nancy!

What a relief! So happy for you Nikki that there's nothing serious for your little Willow! :bighug: Her numbers should return to normal once on Baytril!
If you're moving at the end of the month, you'll be leaving your vet and Nancy also ?

Thank you!
Hopefully her numbers will come down so I don't have to increase her dose...A girl can dream!
Yes, I'm moving from NS to Ontario, where vet prices are pretty much double! :arghh::mad:
I will miss her vet for sure. Nancy is a long distance healer, she works over the phone so she is still available:)
With love, Nikki

continuing low dose batril long term.

Have you considered D-Mannose? It's organic & a natural product: When consumed, D-Mannose becomes part of the urine where it can collect bad bacteria out of the bladder. The bacteria binds to the D-Mannose instead of the lining of the urinary tract and is safely eliminated. It works particularly well on e coli, which is the most common bacteria to cause UTIs https://nasc.cc/pet-university/urinary-tract-infections-in-pets/

You can sprinkle it on their food or add to their water. ( there's no taste) https://www.amazon.com/WellnessPart...owder/dp/B00HQOLTUS?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20

Glad to hear it's not something serious!

Hi Joy, thanks so much for the info. She's been on D mannose for 7-8 months; apparently it's not helping. I've started her on cartrophen fairly recently in hopes that it helps with her bladder wall as well as joints. With the big kidney/Little Kidney diagnosis I really suspect kidney infection, which is why I'm hitting with a longer dose this time. Hope your babies are all well! Thanks again, With love, Nikki
