Good morning, kitties and peeps! :cat::coffee::)

This morning's test was the easiest yet: one tiny poke and a bright drop of blood appeared, no massaging necessary. A miracle. I guess GA Chulo saw that we needed help and decided to stick around.cat_wings>o

I also used a new trick today: I discovered long ago that both cats liked music, particularly any kind of soft piano or guitar jazz -- they would often go and hang out by the speaker if it was playing. So this morning, I brought my iPhone over to the "testing station" and put on one of my favorite YouTube stations that I like to have on in the background while working, "Lounge Music - Breakfast Jazz - Positive Mood Bossa Nova." It gave us both something much more pleasant to focus on. Maybe this will help others?

Happy Friday to all!

Well, I am just striking out all over the place with my testing today. I KNOW I am giving those little ears as much of a poke as ever, but nothing's coming out. I am counting on all of you to be right about the "learning to bleed" business ... !

Day 3: the day of extremes. From her lowest AMPS so far to a scary high PMPS, and from the easiest BG test to pretty much impossible.

Today she started at AMPS 345. I tried every two hours throughout the day to test her, and I know I poked her hard enough -- she flinched and squawked -- but NO blood came out. Seriously. It's as if her capillaries have figured out what is going on and headed for the hills.

Yesterday her BG stayed within a tight range of mid-300s, and I thought OK, maybe it won't be so hard to get this FD under control. Today, in the absence of data, I imagined that she must be holding steady again, like yesterday -- why wouldn't she? At PMPS I finally got that drop of blood, causing her obvious pain, and my heart along with it -- but the worst part is that her BG was 514! OK, she had a meal at +8, but shouldn't some of those carbs have worn off after four hours? Why is it that her meal at PMPS +6.5 yesterday had no noticeable effect on her BG, yet today a meal just an hour or so later has sent her through the roof???

If I have to poke her again tonight I am going to cry. I mean, I'll do it if I have to ... but do I have to?

Feeling horribly discouraged. Thanks for any insights/advice.
