Woke up extra early and got a AMPS, 110. Gave him .5U and a can of ff pate. I won’t be able to test again until PMPS so let’s hope he has a great day :)

Hi Dena,

Are you leaving right away? Any chance you can get a +1 before you leave?
Does he have food for the rest of the day?

Just did Juggies +4 test and he’s at 79.
@Bandit's Mom time for me to sleep soon or should I try for another at +5? It’s 11pm here now but I’ll prob be in bed awake if needed??

Feed him a little of his FF and think you should be good.

By the way, that's another reduction for him! Go down to 0.25U tomorrow morning. He is doing great! :-)

He will get midnight snack in about half hour. Any suggestions on doing .25 Our needles only measure by .5 and I can barely even see that lol

Yes, its a really tiny dose and the fun part is that the dose after that is 0.10U!
Do you use magnifiers? I have started using the zoom function of my smartphone camera. It's really powerful

Alos, I think I've said this before, so apologies for repeating it, if I have - when you first use a syringe, push the plunger all the way in to see if it lines up with the printed zero line. A lot of syringes have their markings way off and that affects the accuracy of the dose. Especially with smaller doses every little bit matters.

I don’t think you did. I will be sure to check but what do you do if it’s off? How do you get accurate dose?
.1 is scary lol thanks for the photos though it really helps.

You have to adjust the dose accordingly. For e.g., if you have +0.25U above the zero (with the needle facing up), you would measure 0.25 less.

A lot of us use callipers to measure the dose but hopefully Juggie will not need insulin for very long. Knock on wood!

So you check each new needle because they could be wonky at any time right. The needles we have suck:( they are so stiff and hard to manoeuvre for small doses, it just sticks and jumps past the target spot. I took an old one and pumped it back and forth so many times and it didn’t loosen up at all it’s like it has no lube at all. Definitely will not buy this brand again
