Hello everyone! Once again apologies in not posting more often.
Lando is well but as usual lately i have a long post update.

the bigger picture story is that he hasnt had insulin in a week. He has consistently had normal range ( often below 100) pre shot numbers. Also he has slowed down dramatically. He is in his bed 90 percent of the time and seems wobbly when he is up and around. So i made the decision to try a non official OTJ run. He still has great energy in the morning and purrs quite a bit when petted, but honestly i wanted to make his “ senior days” as stress free as possible if it made sense.

im still doing sub q fluids for him; still doing potassium and still on low carb low phos food.

i hope everyone is well and will continue to post as often as i can!

Hi Chelsea thanks for the update, I've been thinking about you and Lando.
It makes me sad that he has slowed down dramatically. Good luck with the non official OTJ run . Give him kisses for me :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you Diane, Cecile Stacy, i really appreciate the support. Honestly its not a sad time ( yet ;) ) but him slowing down feels like a natural life progression for Lando. He turns 18 in two weeks, so i knew it was coming ;). As long as he purrs and can get to the litterbox ok, i feel like he is content tostick around a bit longer ( or a few more years! Ha you never know)

I totally agree with you :bighug::bighug:

Sending you and Lando lots of good luck, positive thoughts, love, and hugs. It's tough when the 'old' guys slow down, less stress is important for them, and us. I'm glad he still has great morning energy and lots of purrs for you. :bighug::bighug: I had a friend whose cat lived to be 22- this cat slept 99% of the time, but was purring every day. Lando for me :bighug:

Wooooahhh 22! Haha you never know with this tank of a guy ;)

On "paper" ,he's looking pretty good!

Mr Kitty is slowing down too, but knowing him he's got another 15 years left :joyful: (he's 12). Hopefully that's all it is, just natural age progression. 18 is a good long life!
Thank you Melissa. Yes, the numbers made me comfortable to see if he could be OTJ. The worse that could happen is that his numbers go up and i start insulin again ( shrug)

Sorry, I don’t know your history. By slowing down is this by any chance arthritis related?

Hi Cheryl,
It is quite possibly arthritis. His last xray (3 ish months ago?) showed a a misalignment in the spine as well. Lando also recovered from neuropathy around that same time. He likes to collect ALL the ailments ;) thanks for your concern!
