Okay, now I'm confused. What is happening? So her PMPS for 7/19 was 327; gave her the 3 even though I was skeptical of it and thought it wasn't going to do anything and she'd just be high; I was just humoring the vets. Now this. I know 195 is good but I don't understand why I'm seeing a blue again on the 3. We hadn't seen a blue on it in quite some time, so that's why we had gone up to the 3.5 in the first place. Whatever is going on now with these doses is throwing me for a loop; feel like I can't trust any of them. When she was on the 2 units for years, it was super predictable.
 
Looks like the throughout the night, the 3 kept her in the high blues/low yellows. I didn't expect to see these results. They're good results, but they make me nervous since they came out of nowhere. :nailbiting: I don't mind blues, so long as they don't get past mid blues. If I give her the 3 this morning, I'll definitely want to check her on my lunch so I can see what's going on. I just really wonder why now the 3 is working so good.
 
Now that I think about it, I remember reading something about glucose toxicity, that once its "glass ceiling" is broken, one may have to reduce doses because now the body will actually let the insulin work on previous doses that before it wouldn't. Maybe that's what it is.
 
Okay, RJ... catch me up. I'm trying to figure this out and just went through several of the last threads. If you can humor me for a minute... tell me what the results of the GI panel were. This was what is usually known as the Texas A&M GI Panel where the bloodwork is sent out? I could not find where you posted the results of that.
 
So tell me... you reduced her dose because the vet told you to? Is this the same vet who yelled at you for using a Libre and also using a human glucometer?
 
They never gave me any actual paperwork with numbers, tho I should i probably secure a copy for myself. They just said her levels were 4x the normal and that she had chronic pancreatitis. I do remember the vet saying some value that started with a "C" was okay, though. Trying to remember the name...cobalime? Not sure.

No, I was going to reduce it anyway. She just happened to agree with me for once. The 3.75 was too freaky for me.

That's a shame. She was starting to get some nice numbers on 3.75. I honestly think a reduction of .75 units was a bad move. However, I understand your anxiety. At this point you may as well hold the reduced dose for 7 days and see what happens.
 
This is what I wrote on an earlier thread, in reply to your comment about her organs doing just fine after being in the 200/300s for years.

I'm copying it over here so as not to resurrect the old thread anymore.

At this point, her bloodwork seems to indicate that her organs are doing well, but couldn't there possible be a "tipping point?" It is worth trying to at least keep her in blue numbers as much as possible.
 
The 3 is putting out some different and better results now than before. It'll be interesting to see how it fares more over time.

We will see. I predict some pinks in the near future. However, I don't actually have a crystal ball ;)

You also had a depot that she was riding on for several cycles. I’m rooting for you and Baby G.
