J.D. woke me up at +7.5 acting like he was hungry and woke me up at AMPS (luckily, because I would have slept through the alarm) acting like he was hungry, so I fed him both times.

This morning I went back to using the Arkray Vital for a while.
My beloved OneTouch was my back up meter, but my strips for it expire 08/13 and I thought I had 200 left, but only found 100 in my stash. I figured I better save the last 50 strips for the end of August or until I buy another backup meter.
At AMPS the OneTouch was 402 and the Arkray was 397. Not a bad difference in numbers ;-) .

J.D. got his meds this morning, and then got to go outside on the deck, where he just finished his 1st Breffis.
I was hoping to go btb, but it's now getting late and our vet appointment is soon.

I wonder if I should have the vet check J.D.'s ears, too. Ginger loves me to rub my knuckle in her ears, but J.D. never used to or maybe I just never tried it on him. Anyway, last night during snuggiling, I was knuckling his ear and he loved it and was grooming his paws while he was getting an ear rub. I just remember several cats on the board having higher BGs when they had ear problems.

Poe has always loved his ears rubbed in any fashion. Even now after all the testing, he still loves it. I was thinking they might be kind of sensitive and sore, but that does not seem to be the case.

More vet vines out to J.D. Maybe you can catch a nap for a bit this afternoon...I know I plan to :-D Of course that will be after I make my run to the pet store for more fuds...I think he eats more than me ohmygod_smile

Good luck at the vetty appt Dyana!

All my kitties love their ears rubbed, at the base, and they like it hard. They really lean into it, then shake. Then come back for more. I always thought Cleo's ears was dirty, but that is just their inside color!

And my avatars did have a red X in them. Some still do this morning.

Ps. I've had weird Avatar things too, some are missing. I don't have the red X, at least not on the iPad, it just says User Avatar in the box where the picture should be. And also, with the iPad, our posts show Zeus' old avatar but if I use the laptop it's the new one that I uploaded a couple of weeks ago. Weird.

He is acting pretty normal.
He was heading to the litter box just a minute ago and we have to leave in 15 minutes. I quickly got out a little plastic cup with a lid to catch the pee, but he pooed. I hope he holds in his pee until we get to the vet.

I just don't know what's wrong with him except for the high BGs that are barely reacting to R, and the vomit on Monday night and on Thursday night.

Basically, he's acting so fine, I probably shouldn't even take him to the vet, but I'm the first appointment so I have no time to cancel, and there is those stubborn BGs, although this +2 is promising (but I did give him 0.10 of R this morning). I'm just talking to myself :lol:

Off to the vet.

J.D. got his mouth looked at and his ears looked at and a Urine/Multistix+Sed/Flem.
Mouth and ears are good. Weight is the same. Temperature was 101.6. No white blood cells or blood in urine.

He did say he heard a heart murmur. I said really, you used to tell me he had one years and years ago when he was like 6, but he hasn't had one since. I asked how bad it was and he said a 1 or a 1.5 out of 5. I asked him what that meant and I don't remember any answer except aging. He then listened to his heart again and said "Scant."

J.D. got a couple licks of MC for his +3.5 test treat and then ate his 3rd Breffis of FF Chunky Turkey.

The weather is bearable right now, and J.D. is laying out on the deck.

Oh, he said they found casts in the urine. I have never heard of casts before.

Did they get the urine with a needle in him? Did it seem to bother him if they did?

Glad that J.D. is acting well and is happy, though it would be nice for you to have an explanation of the higher BGs. He sure did come down nicely in spite of the vet visit though :mrgreen: !

I'm glad J.D.'s vet visit went well and he seems to be doing good today. I've never heard of casts either.

No, the vet squeezed it out of him manually. J.D. has had the needle to get urine many times. It does not hurt him.
A couple of vets have laid him on his back (which he does not like) to get the urine, and he peed upwards and got the vets ;-) Our regular vet does the needle in his side while he's standing on the exam table.

I'm glad the vetty visit went well. And wow!! beautiful numbers. I guess it didn't stress him too much. I hope casts are no big deal.
 
I gave J.D. some R at +9 so maybe held back the bounce a little.

Anyone have any advice or suggestions on the casts and heart murmur.
He had a heart murmur over 10 years ago, but it hasn't been heard in the 70 or so vet visits between then and now.
His last urinalysis was April 27th and there were no casts. I don't really understand casts.

I'm off to take care of my neighbor's cats. So, back in a bit.
