This morning, miss Blackie decided that she wanted to jump up onto the kitchen table where I test her. Even showed me which ear to poke, too. Got the test, and a nice result. Gave her plenty of praise (I always do regardless of the #).

I went to change my shirt to go outside, and heard a noise from outside while I was in the bedroom. Got my boots on (yeah, I know it's summertime, and yes, I wear boots... because of the Mexia grass that leaves nice little black seeds all over the place, and I hate tracking that stuff into the house... Boots are temporary until hubby cuts again), and ran outside to find out what it was that made the noise. A Texas speedbump, aka armadillo. Ran back to hubby to tell him so that he could deal with him, and I went to feed my 2 outdoor animals. Thankfully, armadillos not dangerous, but they are destructive. He was already starting to burrow, rather deeply I might add, under one of the sets of stairs. After I fed, we both chased him out of the front gate that hubby had opened up for him. He finally left, and went across the street and on his merry way. Never a dull moment when one lives the country life.

MY WISH: For God to help those who are going through, or have gone through disasters... For God to help heal the broken hearts of those who lost a beloved pet and/or human, especially the Stone family who lost their beloved father and husband after a fall at the Arlington Ball Park... For everyone to have great #s... For everyone to be OTJ.

A little morning excitement

We get bunnies, racoons, possums, and the odd skunk around here, and this is
just the 'burbs, not country :o

Have a great day!

Armadillos are annoying! Hope it stays away. They can be so destructive.

Good start for Blackie today! Hope you have a great day!

Re: 07/13 Blackie AMPS 145

We get coyotes, skunks, armadillos, snakes (ewww), roadrunners, bunnies, deer, wild boar, racoons, and apparently bobcat, too (according to my neighbor who has chickens). Normally, when I see an armadillo, it's usually on the side of the road. Hence the term "Texas speedbump".

Yikes! An armadilla, what does one look like! I'm in the city. I get the occasional raccoon and other smaller wildlife. I like the way Blackie knows her testing spot and readies himself.

Re: 07/13 Blackie AMPS 145

No armadillos here in Jersey...we only get furry "wildlife"! One night a few weeks ago, when hubby was coming home from volleyball, he met up with a skunk on the path to the back door. Needless to say, hubby hightailed it to the front door    !

Nice AMPS for Blackie - and so sweet that she helped you out with testing this morning!

Armadillo is also called a Texas speedbump? Hahahaha!

I live in the city and don't see alot of wildlife here. Once I saw a rat the size of a kitten. Quite frightening.
