07/09 Nestle AMPS 99 PMPS 83

I know this is a feline diabetes forum, but since so many members feel like family and friends I'd like to take a moment to share a small story with you today.
Back in the day we had another pet in our family. His name was Gizmo and he was an iguana. He lived to what we believe was almost 20 years old. Today Nestle and I (Peanut wasn't around yet back then) are celebrating Gizmo's life. Today marks 5 years since Gizmo's passing over the rainbow bridge :rb_icon:
It was a hard goodbye for me as I was away on a layover when it happened. I left for work and he was there and when I returned he was gone so I never really got to say goodbye. Gizmo and Nestle were companions. Nestle would sit beside his cage and hang out. They never bothered each other even when Gizmo was out of his cage. After Gizmo passed and his empty cage sat there for few months before I was able to take it apart, Nestle would still sit beside it. Eventually I sold the cage and 2 years later I used that money to adopt Peanut ❤️
I hope it's ok I shared this story today and some of the photos of my sweet boy and Gizmo and Nestle together.

Hi Karolina , what a great story about Gizmo !, he's was so cute.
I'm sorry you never got to say goodbye to him :(
Maybe Nestle was there by his cage ♥
Then you got Peanut ,I bet Gizmo sent him to you .
What great pics especially the 2 where Nestle was touching Gizmo's chin and the other one that looks like Nestle was kissing him. .
To hear Nestle still sat beside Gizmo's cage made me sad, but now he has Peanut . Thanks for sharing about Gizmo :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Karolina, thank you for sharing your story of Gizmo. He was adorable and I love the pics of your sweet Nestle with him. It’s incredible how they seem to be good buddies.
I agree with Diane, it seems Gizmo sent Peanut to you. Now he and Nestle have each other:kiss:

I’m sorry you didn’t get to say goodbye to Gizmo. That’s so sad:(
Sending you all hugs and hoping Nestle continues to stay in his stable greens.
Have a nice night with those sweet boys :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Diane. I never was a big reptile person but Gizmo came with the bf at the time so it was a package deal when we moved in together. He grew on me and I came to care for him and love him.
I believe that part of him lives on through Peanut.
And those two pictures you mentioned are def some of my fav of them two. They were sweet together.
I hope whenever Gizmo is today, he's causing chaos haha.

Thanks Staci. He really was a great pet and him and Nestle were buddies. It was sweet to see how two different species lived along each other in harmony and peace.
And like I mentioned in my response to Diane I really believe that part of Gizmo lives on through Peanut. Mostly when Peanut is causing chaos haha.
But I promised myself, when I sold the cage, that I will only use that money towards another animal. And that's how Peanut became a part of my family.
