Good morning!
AMPS 290 shooting 3.5u

Boomer left one entire meal last night. Funny how there are foods that he eats willingly during the day but don't seem to appeal to him at night

I've been out to Saunders Pond, got chased off the deck by a Swallow that decided to dive-bomb me! When I returned about an hour later he left me alone luckily because I ended up having an amazing encounter with a young Great Blue Heron! Picture tomorrow hopefully.

Meanwhile, today's photo was taken yesterday at one of our neighbourhood run-off ponds and is a juvenile Spotted Sandpiper!

Swallows are so aggressive! I'm glad yours calmed down enough for you to nab some pics of a Great Blue Heron... looking forward to the pics :)

I find Mowgli eats much less at night, maybe Boomer is the same lately? too sleepy to eat?

Have a great day Judy :)

Great photo Judy! Sorry to hear about the dive-bomber! Crazy huh? Hard to figure out these cats and the food things...wish I had some great advice about that.

Have a great day Judy!

Boomer you heard the threat! You better get busy!

This morning as I drove down the road a Heron flew up out of the creek that runs beside the road right in front of me. I could never get a decent picture that quick, but it was neat to watch him fly just above and in front of me for a bit.

On our little group's paddle today (Upper Osgood River) we saw 1 loon, a large family of Merganzers, and a large family of Canada Geese. All of the "babies" in both families were about 3/4 full size. We heard Ovenbirds, White Throated Sparrows, and a Hermit Thrush. Also, a large deer crashed through the river about 500 feet ahead of me (I was in the lead). I only saw his/her hindquarters, but it was a big deer. I'm wondering if it might not have been a moose. This river goes through a remote area of muskegg. The water is shallow. Lots of vegetation.

Off to Camp tomorrow for a few days of "rest" before the week of Canoe Outing starts at Paul Smiths (July 16-20). Poor internet at camp. Gus will be staying in the 1-room cabin, but it has a good sized screened porch. We can't trust him to go outside there because there are too many people around and too many dangers.

Boomer, let's get on track!!
