Yesterday’s post. Kitten has earned yet another reduction! Now at 1.75 units. Didn’t expect that 49 this afternoon! Had my nieces and nephew over today so kitten was hiding a bit. But she was SO good being tested with a peanut gallery over my shoulder lol the three of them were thrilled she got extra food this afternoon because she meows begging the moment a bowl comes out (and she sounds like a kitten). They were are all “awwwws”. Too cute! They’ve been learning a lot about kitty diabetes since they’re all so interested in what I’m doing. My nephew has already learned when kitten has good BG#s.

When I had Sheba all my grandchildren knew all about what a normal BG was and how to treat a diabetic cat. My then 9 year old granddaughter Millie learnt to test and when I had to go into hospital unexpectedly for a week, she taught my daughter and my husband how to do it.

I hadn’t thought of it but yes I’ll work on teaching the kids testing! At least my nephew Noah, he’s the oldest (11). My niece Kasey (8) may be interested too but Allie (6) is a bit young. What a great idea!
