I hope everybody had a great 4th of July!

We spent all day yesterday wondering if we should head to the vet. Squallie hardly ate anything for two days and was starting to really worry me. Then last night he decided to really tuck in and ate pretty well! At least, comparatively well. I didn't know whether he would eat today or not, but he's eaten fairly well today, too, thank heavens. He definitely chowed down on the gravy food when he dropped below 50, lol, couldn't get enough of it! Little stinker! He still paws at his mouth, but nowhere near as frequently as he was doing just a day ago. He has definitely lost a good bit of weight, so the newest project is to put a couple pounds back on him. His insulin requirements have dropped incredibly! But he is full of purrs and snuggles, my sweet boy!

Thank you, Carol! I was worried, too! He is still picky about what he'll eat but, apparently, if I find the right food, he'll eat it. Lots of open cans in my kitchen the last couple of days, good thing I have other cats!

I am pleased to report that Squallie ate almost all his dinner! It took about 3 hours, but I don't care how long it takes, as long as he eats!!!

So glad to hear Squallie is starting to eat better. He had a major dental and it's a super scary recovery but hopefully he'll just continue to get back to normal eating. Leo lost 9oz the first week post FME from not eating. It was about 2.5 weeks after FME that he started eating normal again.

Good to hear Squallie hasn't lost his taste for gravy! Surf safely now buddy.

Thanks, Karen. Knowing Leo's journey with FME makes me feel better. Squallie has also figured out a way to make good on this experience, though, I think. Clever little dude will only eat certain foods now, mostly ones that he usually gets in limited quantities, like all the different types of seafoods. It's just a guessing game now, because he knows if he won't eat one, I'll offer another! Lots of open cans going in the trash!
