Just now (almost an hour after his last food) he started meowing (in distress) and then got sick .... he has rarely gotten sick before, not even had hairballs often (even though he is a long hair cat) .... I do not really have anything to treat this (medication wise) and I cannot afford an ER vet visit. For now, I am keeping an eye on him ... his next meal isn't till 7pm (nearly 5pm now) just after his next insulin dose. Is this still a safe plan to follow?

Should note, am in the process of changing him from Fancy Feast to Friskies but this is not a new food for him, not even a new flavor and I am trying to do it as slowly as my supplies allow. As I understand it, should be 25% new to 75% old to start and increase the amount of new from there .... I do not have the exact same flavors of each unfortunately left .... so I have had to mix a bit of the liver of the old with the fish of the new but think I have mixed those two flavors (just same brand) before .... not sure if that is what caused it or not.

I have just now given him a very tiny amount of food (no more than he threw up) because he was clearly hungry. I will delay his 7pm injection to allow for 2 hrs (for the BG check)
