Not much to report that's different. Eddie still alert and doing ok with the exception of not any continuous actual eating.

Will be calling Canada West tomorrow. Been doing some further research re: the tongue/throat issue and I'm now thinkng it's not necessarily the Feline Orofacial Pain Syndrome but something that looks like it but I have to be sure because, as I said, it looks the same symptomatically: pharyngeal dysphagia. I think it might be something like this because he doesn't seem to be experiencing pain. He's had only one tongue twirling/gagging episode yesterday since acupuncture but what seems happening is the wanting to eat, starting to eat and then a little discomfort.

I texted the dental specialist as she made the original referral to Canada West. Haven't heard anything from her.

All I can do is take it one day at a time.

Any chance he's got soft tissue growth in the mouth/pharynx?

I guess that's what we'll find out with a thorough examination. I have to say the IM vet did not want to do that when we came back from the dental surgery and I regret I didn't press him further but I was too worried about those bizarre symptoms. I've noticed Eddie is more comfortable to take food off a spoon if I hold it up. He'll do that for awhile but there's something going on that's getting in the way. That's what I need to find out and if takes going to Canada West AND having the dental vet involved, so be it. This is so frustrating. My only consolation, as I said, is that Eddie's demeanour is highly improved (maybe his teeth aren't bothering him anymore). Honestly, I'm finding him in places that make me happy (like curled up in a little bowl shaped bed that's too small for him!). The fact that he is interested in food and will start to take it tells me his appetite is good. It's all in the placement of the food, somehow.
I'm going to be proactive tomorrow and call both vets. I may be on the road sooner rather than later but at least I finished teaching last week. That was an intense six weeks.
