Morning all,

It has been almost a decade since I posted, no excuse apart from the fact that I’ve been out for all the three weeks of june. These have been quite fun and heavy in action. Plan to go to Philadelphia and surrounding cities (to photograph planes) went A1. The entire state of Pennsylvania is now in bank with thousands of pictures from all over the place. Heading to my Fiancé

@Osha , in DC I stopped in Delaware to catch some more vintage military planes. I was happy to reach Amanda, it had been more than three months we had seen each other. Phone is good to know how your partner is going, but some very important aspects will never be filled. And to fill them we did, gearing on fifth speed. We had some good time visiting family, traveling to Hershey, city of chocolate, with her daughter coming with us. It was kind a cool, simulated production line, history of the place, zoo, botanic garden, nice hotel with spa and swimming pool.. Nice souvenir.

During the whole trip Small Kitty had to be fed with maple syrup added to his food as he was light green more often than ever. I was not stressed, he had done that before during previous trips, he’s now slowly going up and down. The nice pet sitter and I were in contact all the time to adjust, she did a hell of a job. Lucky she’s living something like 5 min away from my place. She’s now more than a pet sitter.

Still during the trip, on the way back to my future home, (in Dc), some less funny news came in… My brother mailed saying he had some bad news… Didn’t know what to expect but knew it was major league stuff. My brother and I are as far as America and Europe. Called him… dead silence at the other end of the line.. then the news came in.. My father has had a fatal car accident the days before.. The hit is still as solid to me as it was to my father, healing is going on but will take some time. My father was my best friend, one I could count on every time I needed him. Each time a reference comes by with souvenir popping up the hammer goes down…

Anyways, we’re in a cat forum, you’re here for cat stuff, I’m not going to submerge you with psychology. Let just say that life will never be the same now on.

Hope all’s ok for all of you, Small Kitty is well, slightly going up to his original dose.

Dear Sebastien - I'm so sorry to hear of the sudden loss of your father. I know this must be a very difficult time for you. Yes, we are here for cat stuff, but in caring for our cats we also care for each other. During this difficult time, please know how many people care about you. :bighug:

Sebastian

My heart goes out to you :bighug: :bighug: What devastating news to receive and so sudden. I am without words to express my sadness for you but I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. :bighug::bighug:

Although its no news anybody want to learn the timing was good. I was with Amanda when I called my brother, her harms were wide open. Having been alone here in Montreal would not have been as supportive. Thanks Amanda for being there :bighug:.

Thanks to all of you as well, you, the group, made me discover that there is plenty of nice people out there.
Without it the new perceptive of meeting my loved one would not have happen.

Keep my place warm for our future member's reunion :cat:

Oh Sebastien, I'm so sorry :(
I too lost my Dad suddenly, on June 12th. I am still in shock. It is so sad. He was my rock and taught me so much.

I am so glad you found a good pet sitter! I see that Small Kitty is down to a much smaller dose. Good Luck to you.
I don't read all the posts every day, so I didn't know there was an engagement :bighug: Best Wishes to you and Amanda.

Sorry to ear you're on the same boat Dyana. We should never take our closes for granted, they can
leave us in a flash.

*To all of you, on FMDB and elsewhere, be careful if you drive. If you're tired, have some drink behind the belt,
park and resume when you're in better shape. If my father had done that (sleep) he would still be with us
as we're speaking. Saving time costed him his hole life.

Have God take care of him now.

@Dyana, We are so sorry to hear of your loss of your father. I have the fondest memories of both my parents and think of them often, even after 45 years. It is true that the spirits of our loved ones remain with us.

Sebastien: Thank you for the reminder that we should be always alert and awake while driving. I am so glad that Amanda is with you and that you are not alone in Montreal.

Thanks to all of you for your post. Things are not that bad but with a major different touch.

From the very first day (night actually), I started talking to my father. My mother has left
us for quite some time now, she was the one watching from above making sure all was for the best.
She now has her husband at her side to keep on making sure everything's alright.

Let's hope the family is complete for some time now.

Although we are here for cat stuff...we are so very sorry to hear of your loss...we're all family here too...we have our humans and our pets that we love...and we're all aware that nothing in life is simple - be it for our beloved pets or our human loved ones.

We'll say a prayer for you...so very sorry about this recent upsetting/sad news. Sending healing vibes to Small Kitty to take it easy on you at this time...:bighug:
