Yesterday was a pretty green day and night for Butters.

Today, more green. And her course of clindamycin was completed this afternoon.

Butters (and I) had a house move last week in addition to the dental surgery and vet visit. When I think of how crazy things have been for her, it's pretty amazing her numbers have held steady. She seemed to just roll with it. Anyhow, the move is behind us now. She has found new favourite spots in her new home. THe back door has a screen and even though it has been around 40 degrees with humidity, I've had to leave the glass door open so she can sniff the gross, humid outside air through the screen while she lays on top of an air conditioning vent:confused::rolleyes:.

I heard back from University of Georgia today and it looks like they will be arranging a consult for Butters with the boarded nutritionist for mid-August. That's not too far away, so I'm thankful. It was nice to get some good news. The zyrtec has done nothing to help her scratching, so I'm going to give Claritin a try and see if that helps. Her vet says he doesn't have much success with any antihistamines: he recommended a steroid or cyclosporin.

And he wants me to give cisapride another shot. He is sure she has a motility problem as opposed to a dehydration issue or something else. And he also thinks the seizure that happened last time she was on cisapride was just a coincidence. So I have agreed to give it another try....because I don't have any other options and she really should be pooping more!

Surf safely, kitties:cat:

Will this be a virtual visit to UGA? You really have been busy lately. I hope you are settling in… it sounds like Butters has. You’re still in Ontario, right?
Butters has no problem making her home wherever she is, thankfully! I was really nervous about this move because of everything she is going through...two days post-major dental surgery....but she did just fine. Still in Ontario. I've probably moved house 20-25 times in my life, sometimes I've had to move for work and sometimes it's just because I like to move.
Yes, it's a virtual consult over Zoom. I'm on such a crazy train with preparing raw meals, adding all of these supplements and meds, and yet all she does is scratch away, barely poops and has almost no energy. So her diet certainly doesn't seem to be helping things. I need real professional help for her to see if we can turn things around.

I am so sorry to hear that Butters is still so very itchy and generally feeling not herself, but glad she is adjusting to her new home. I've moved around a lot too and my cats seem to take all of it in stride. I think they even like having new territories to explore. I would be curious to hear what the nutritionist would suggest as far as a diet change for Butters, and really hope it helps her, poor girl. :bighug:

Hi Lyla, You have been a very busy lady with the move , taking care of Butters post
dental surgery you are one strong lady.
Butters sure is a trooper!
I'm so happy her BG's have been so good considering everything.

Happy to hear that she has already found some favorite spots for herself.
I truly hope the nutritionist can figure something out.
My heart just breaks for her with all that scratching.
I hope the claritin helps.
I know nothing about meds for cats, does cyclosporine raise BG numbers?
I just want her to feel better and I pray for her everyday.
Please poop Butters.
Well I'm glad you are settled in your new place and can relax a little
It was good to hear from you and letting us know what's been going on ♥♥:bighug::bighug::bighug:
Give her a kiss for me :cat:

Oh Butters, what a good adaptable girl! It's funny how the things we think will bother them are often a non-event. Tales from the top of the airconditioner...such a cat thing to do. :cat:

AND thought I'd let you know that Minnie has had a part-shave. Bald belly. It's so soft!! Thanks for the idea.

Hi Lyla, so good to see your post. I’ve missed you and Butters a lot. Being itchy is no fun, Dolly yanks her fur at times rather than scratching. I always ask her if she has bugs. Wishing you both a good night. I have much to ask but the dinning room table is calling me. Dolly definitely has an internal clock when it comes to testing recently. She will be sitting with us and just about on the hour or two she’s gone back to her new shelter, under the dinning room table :banghead::banghead: Talk tomorrow. Prayers for poops. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Please have Butters send her instructional booklet on how to roll with life to us :bighug:. It is incredible how even she is as far as personality goes and her ability to be able to adjust through an extensive dental, a big move and all while not feeling 100%:). I love that she already found her spot :p in the new home!
