Re: 06/28 Tray's AMPS 414

I suspect a bounce... Don't know how low he went after that 292 at +3...

Don't get discouraged (I can only say this after going thru the ups and downs with Kasha over the last couple of months). Frustration on our part is apparently part of the process. Give it a few more cycles... Are you able to get any more tests in during the day or evenings? I'm really wondering where and what his nadir was last night.

Come on Tray - that pinkish red color (or should I write "colour" for the Canadian cat?) doesn't suit you at all... Or anyone really...

Re: 06/28 Tray's AMPS 414

I have one last crazy week of working days and nights but I should be able to start getting some more tests in soon. I am making that vet appointment just in case. It's Tray's 10th birthday tomorrow and I want to ensure his health for another 10 years!

Re: 06/28 Tray's AMPS 414

yuck! Tray that color is not looking good on you!

We have been playing this game with mochas numbers for over a year now. There are a ton of days I feel discouraged. I am not going to lie about it. But somehow you get up and you do it all over again the next day because deep down we really know we won't ever really give up on our furbabies. I just don't ever tell mocha that. The threat in our house is exchanging her in for mocha 2.0. I think she is tired of hearing that cause as soon as we start in on it, she rolls over and goes to sleep. I know it's frustrating and discouraging, but remember, you are not the only one going through this, we have ALL felt discouraged by this at one point or another. So let it out here.

Re: 06/28 Tray's AMPS 414

ah Tray - what an unbecoming color on you - bring it down, ok?

and I agree with the others - been dealing with this with Mannie for two years now - had many many days where I wonder if we will ever get this under control. Hang in there.

Re: 06/28 Tray's AMPS 414

Tray is off to the vet this evening just to be sure he's okay, wish us luck that all goes well.

Re: 06/28 Tray's AMPS 414

Hey Tray, it's just a number and you can exchange it for a lower one later this morning!! Come on, buddy, let's get down and surf in blue today, OK?

Stu

Hi Iorwen, Yes it's frustrating. But cat rules, as we all know. I hope that tomorrow, on his 10th birthday, Tray will give YOU a nice present of lower numbers. Good luck at the vet's!

Ella

Good luck at the Vet with Tray. We'll be thinking of you and Tray and waiting to hear about the exam. It's good you're taking him just to make sure. Take care.

Re: 06/28 Tray's AMPS 414

When did you last open a new Lantus pen? There's nothing that I can see on your SS about new Lantus. If you are using your original pen/vial, it's probably toast. I see very inconsistent numbers with Gabby if the insulin is old.

(And if you've changed to new insulin, please make a note of when you did so on your SS.)

Re: 06/28 Tray's AMPS 414

It is marked on my SS when I open a new lantus cartridge in the comments section. It wasn't that long ago (June 11) when I opened a new one so I doubt it's the insulin.

Re: 06/28 Tray's AMPS 414

Paws crossed for the vet vist. I hope it's just bouncing from unseen lows while you are out. Positive thoughts! :-D

Re: 06/28 Tray's AMPS 414

Wonder if Tray headed into the greens again when you weren't looking...they do that, don't they?
Hope that the numbers will be coming down today.

This is not a "hobby" for the weak, is it? We are all screaming at one time or another here so it's a good thing this forum doesn't have sound! You can complain here...we don't mind. But you are opening yourself up to the talk about "Patience" and all that. I won't say that to you cause I hate that...but someone might. They say "be patient...it gets better" and "hang in there" and all that.
All of that IS soo true but I am not going to be the one to say it now....

That's good that you will take him to the vet. Check ups are a good thing. And I Tray has a Happy Birthday Eve today....

Re: 06/28 Tray's AMPS 414

Hey there, try not to get discouraged! I do know how you feel though. Meadow goes up and down a lot. I'm sure you'll get Tray into the good numbers soon. Hang in there!

Hello, back from the vet and he's ruled out any infection. Tray doesn't have a temp, and he''s got a strong heart beat. The vet did take some blood and urine just to be sure but he thinks it could either be a bounce or that simply, Tray hasn't found his dose yet.

Now who was it in here that didn't mention the word patience? Pat? The doctor mentioned it a few times before sending me on my way.

Got home just in time for his PM dose, his BG was 261, pretty good considering he was trembling the entire time at the vet. Not sure if he was scared of the doctor or the insane noise outside the office. My vet is smack in the middle of little Portugal/Brasil and the Brasilians were samba dancing and beeping their horns over their World Cup win! My cat's eyes were giant saucers! hehe Poor thing should be used to it by now, he lives with a family of soccer fanatics!

Did the doctor really say that word to you three times? Oh my.... LOL
Poor Tray....but what on earth could he have thought about that noise? Glad that at first glimpse things look good. I am hoping that the blood work doesn't show anything at all. But that trip to the vet sure did wonders for his BGs!

That's a very nice pmps for Tray, considering all he went through at the vets! I wonder if he hadn't been stress if his numbers would have been lower. I'm glad that nothing is wrong with him!

thanks guys, and yes he told me to have patience, patience, patience and to try yoga! I told him I did yoga already and he laughed and said maybe I should try the opposite and take up kick boxing to get my frustrations out!

Tray is coming down nicely, +1 272

kick boxing?   but i do love the patience remark. been there - done that. Well I am glad that all checked out ok at the vet.

Nice PMPS too!

Glad to hear everything went ok at the vet and that's over with. Does everyone dread going to the vet as much as I do?

Lets see some blues there, Tray!
