Oh, how I wanted that +2 this morning to be 360!

Today's my dad's birthday, so I feel guilty be out here in the workshop, but I know you guys care and want to know how J.D. is doing.
I gave him two pill pockets this morning..one empty and one with a Pepcid AC in it. When I went back in the bedroom a little later I found a little bit of throw up (on my step mom's white carpet) of half a pill pocket, so I'm not certain those will keep working. So, about a half hour later, I hid his Clindamycin in a little piece of leftover steak (he LOVES steak)..glad those pills are small, but they are very bitter tasting.

It's so much easier for me to do the + numbers now that we are back on 6:00am/6:00pm, which is what I am used to.

J.D. did okay last night, except I forgot to wake up in the middle of the night and walk him in the deep dark star studded (Oh, the stars are absolutely gorgeous, here!!!) cold (60 degrees) night. So, we have taken 3 walks so far this morning.

Glad to hear that JD is feeling better Dyana. I hope he continues to feel better as the days go by. Are you enjoying your vacation? No chipmunks in the drainpipe this year?
Thanks Deb. No ground squirrels in the drain pipes, although, my dad put some kind of beeping sound deterent devises in their holes in the field, and now I see they have dug holes in my dad's spoiled highly cherished lawn. The neighbors cows are supposedly pregos, and I am waiting to see a calf born, but I don't know if that will happen. They don't look all that swollen with pregnancy. I did see a lizard, and there are tree frogs and little baby toads all over my dad's property. I put the hummingbird feeders up, and they alternate between the feeders and my step mom's lavendar plants.

You sure aren't in the city are ya'? Between the pregnant cows and all the critters and beautifully pampered lawn, it sounds lovely.
Well, maybe not the cows... I'm not a country girl so you can keep the cows.

I hope J.D. doesn't do anymore 'decorating' of your stepmother's white carpet.

Have a great time!

uh oh...hope you and the step mom have a good relationship!!

too funny on the groundsquirrels...i remember the drainpipe story from last trip.

my mom was being all snarky about her neighbors having gophers and not "putting in the proper effort" to get rid of them.
Then the county did some roadwork, and the gophers moved across the street to her yard
those neighbors will never be forgiven!

glad to hear you are enjoying your visit!!

Should I increase to ff1.00? It's just a bit more.
Tonight, right after PMPS, we'll be going out to celebrate my Dad's birthday, but we won't be gone that long. J.D. has been stubbornly hanging on to these numbers.
One problem is that my sister is coming from Portland Oregon tomorrow, and suggested that we take a trip back to were we grew up, which is a couple hours drive, at least. I guess that would be on Tuesday, as she said she won't arrive until 1:00pm on Monday. My dad asked me if Pat (my step mom, and a retired nurse) could shoot J.D.'s insulin, and I responded only if she learns to test. I just don't think I am that much in need  of seeing where we grew up, and don't need the stress of worrying about my cat the whole day. This is my vacation, and it's supposed to be a vacation (I think that means less stress). Besides I don't need to see how much Walnut Creek has changed in the past few decades. I know it's just busier and more people, and less open space. Who wants to see that? Not me.

I think it's fine to increase if you're going to be around to test. The biggest issue is if the ABs are dealing with an infection, J.D.'s numbers may drop.

OK, here's the plan.
When your sister gets there, give her some yummy sugar-free candy made with xylitol and then she won't want to sit in a car for hours. Her grumbly tummy won't let her. You eat regular candy of course.
You guys will have a nice visit at your dad's house and no travel involved.

Oh, CD you are sooooooo bad!!!! But that's a good bad, lol! Ugh on the throw up on the white carpet....hopefully the dose crease, if you decide to give it to him, works.
I think it would be really cool to see a calf born. My mom's family had a farm, well, still have it, but it is now in my cousin's hands...and they had turkey, pigs, cows, rabbits....all for food, tho. I remember the one cow they got...simply for slaughter and me, being the nebby and inquisitive child I was just had to see this.....it was very sad. I never want to see that again.

I bumped an older thread up, sorry about that. But I see he's still higher than normal. I think he's just about to make his break for better numbers, aren't you bouncy boy?

Dyana - Sounds like JD is feeling better other than the pukus on the carpet. Oooppps! Hope you are enjoying your vacation. JD will come down.
