Good morning,

Here is yesterday:

Still iffy re: eating on his own but he seems really quite relaxed when I syringe-feed. He will eat Churu sticks, lick food off my fingers, drink water or really liquified food if I hold up the bowl, so clearly there is something about the raised bowl, food or water.

I just rec'd the Visibome High Potency Probiotic: very impressive. It arrived cooled with icepacks in a styrofoam container with a temperature monitoring sensor indicating product viability.

@Wendy&Neko I gave. some of the Wellness probiotic in this morning's food; must I wait 24 hours to use the Visibiome, which seems really hardcore.

BTW, vet is calling in prescription for Budesonide for Eddie this morning. Starting dose: 0.5ml once a day (total daily dose 0.5mg).

I would wait, you want to start low and slow with the probiotics. Maybe some tonight? You have the packets? It's 455 Billion CFU per packet. The recommended dose of probiotics for cats is 5-10 billion CFU/kg/day. I can't remember Eddie's weight (other than large!) so you'll have to do the math. A packet lasts my kitty over a week.

0.5 mg is a very low dose of budesonide. Neko started on 1 mg, later dropped to 0.75 mg. Budesonide is dosed by surface area, not weight. I'm pretty sure Eddie has more surface area than Neko did. :p At least with compounded liquid it's pretty easy to change the dose. I hope it really helps quickly.

I'll give some tonight, for sure. In the meantime, what's with the AM +7 418? Maybe the Recovery food? I'm giving him 28ml @ a time to get food into him. He's so weird. Will eat Churu out of pack or my hand but offer him a bowl and not impressed. I've ordered a cake decoration tool so that I can put food into that on occasion and make it seem like a treat. Eddie's about 9.5kg.

Got the budesonide prescirption @ pharmacy. Pick up compounded medication on Thursday morning.

Recovery food is not high carb, it didn't impact Neko. More likely bounce would be my guess. But just a guess as there isn't enough data to say. At this point he could be bouncing from low yellows or high blues as he hasn't seen them much.

Surface area? That's seems quite odd. :cat:
