Hi everyone. I haven't been able to post updates for a while but I have been trying to keep a close eye on Bambi. Thankfully her numbers seem to be doing good.

It doesn't seem possible to measure less than 0.1 with the 0.5ml syringes I use, but I have been trying to eyeball the syringe and trying to keep it on a 'thin' 0.1. The incorrect line markings seem to vary up to 0.5u from one syringe to another so basically I look at the lining with the plunger and keep it over or under the 0 line mark depending on the printing mistake. Even so, the last shots seem to have put her under 50, all the way down to 38 today (And perhaps on other occasions during the mid-nights)

She's much more stable now and I'm much more comfortable giving shots due to low doses, but I do think she's starting to need even a further reduction, or possibly an OTJ trial, but wanted to get a more experienced opinion. I believe it was around 2 weeks when if the majority of her BG is between 50-120 that an OTJ trial is appropriate and it looks to be the case for Bambi for a bit over a week now. (Hoping she won't bounce too much after the low 38 today)

Should I be excited about an OTJ trial, or is it yet too soon to expect that? Any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

I think you need a drop dose. To get that hold the plunger in and insert into the vial or pen then release the plunger and it will draw up a drop. You have too many readings over 100 for an otj trial but you are getting close.

She still needs a little bit of insulin. We look for cats to be all in numbers under 100 before starting an OTJ trial. That drop dose might be able to do it. Good luck with the new dose.
