Good morning!
AMPS 119 shooting .75u

Last night I gave Boomer his regular +3, extra, and +6 fuds but only a teeny bit of +9 with chicken pieces. I wanted to see if he would wake me at 4:30 because he was hungry. He didn't. And he ate all of his fuds.

Allen didn't eat anything last night:( and also didn't have a poop :( It's again been 3 days since he pooped. Lactulose is on order at the vet. I don't have very much left but giving 2ml this morning. He didn't eat his breffis so I've now left him in his room with this daytime "buffet".

On the agenda today: hair appt this afternoon YAY. Other than that, DH will be away for a while to have lunch with a friend so I will be here with Boomer. The icky weather broke yesterday and it's much nicer today but because of hair appt this afternoon I probably won't be able to get out for a walk.:(

Today's photo is of a Barn Swallow....such pretty little birds!

Allen did not eat from his buffet either. He sniffed around it but that was it. There's no vomiting but I don't know whether he's nauseous or just uncomfortable because he hasn't pooped in 3 days.

And I've given Allen 5 different foods today and he's not interested. I've sent a message to Dr Larry. Not sure what to do for him. He just had a clear (empty tummy) puke. I have cerenia. I have pepcid AC. And I have mirtazapine. Hoping to hear from Dr Larry soon.

Many vines for sweet Allen. I hope you hear from Dr Larry soon.
I hope so too! Allen did eat a couple of wee pieces of chicken and he licked at some purrfect bistro. But that's it. I want to force-feed him a syringe of food. DH doesn't want me to. sigh. I told him that I will be force-feeding today after my hair appt if Allen hasn't eaten yet.

He's a man and thinks that everything will resolve itself eventually.
sigh
I will be home from my hair appt in about 3.5 hours and will force feed him then.
Good luck. Syringe feeding isn't fun, but it's in the cat's best interest. Maybe that will kickstart Allen's appetite and he will eat more to avoid another session of syringe feeding! :bighug:

Update on Allen.....finally heard from Dr Larry and he is suggesting an eye drop called Pilocarpine that apparently is "supposed to stimulate motility like crazy". And he's also suggesting that Allen be put on an IV for a day to rehydrate him. I feel this is a good idea and have managed to convince DH. Allen will go to Dr Larry's tomorrow for 9:00 am. I also told Dr Larry that I was considering syringing some food into him and he said "any way you can get food into him is good, even if it's not the right kind of food". So I'm about to do that.

I gave Allen some food via syringe about an hour before t/f/s.
He wouldn't eat his chicken pate at t/f/s although he did lick it once or twice. I offered him his overnight buffet of 3 foods. Nope. I dug out a can of fowl ball from the "rejected cans" cupboard and he ate some! YAY. Will probably still have to syringe some tonight though.

Oh, you have one of those too? How fun . Loads of help aren't they? :p

Fingers crossed for you. Have you tried boiled/plain cooked chicken?

Yay for eating a little on his own :bighug: I hope the fluids help tomorrow.

Yes I actually had to cook one for Boomer today and Allen came out to the kitchen once I started cutting it up. He did eat a couple of small pieces. But had no interest in it tonight when I offered it.

Prayers and scritches to sweet Allen :bighug:❤️ That he poops soon and well . From the upper end I have found coconut oil helps keep our formerly plugged up Elmo going ! And I am a huge proponent for “ assisted feeding” aka syringe . When done in a gentle way it can be the only way to get them to start eating again.

He's eaten some of the Fowl Ball so we gave him some more for overnight and I found another food, Hound & Gatos, that he hasn't had for quite a while and he was sniffing that when I left him. He has lots of foods to choose from tonight so I hope he eats something and a poop would be nice too!
