Hi L&L,
Shmee usually sees greens the last cycle before the increase, which means he may tonight. But since he hasn't had any greens this dose he gets another increase tomorrow (unless he sees low greens tonight?). I cannot believe we will be up to 7 units... I am getting ancy waiting for this bloodwork... Appointment is still set for Thursday at 5:20pm even though my vet has yet to respond to my email (no longer on board with TR, clings to the Somolgyi and thinks I could kill Shmee, yeah great fun.. see previous condo). I am not looking forward to seeing the vet at all but I am very much looking forward to getting all sort of new data from the IFG-1, IAA, and full blood panel. Since his appointment is at 5:20 and his regular feeding times are now 7am/pm, I will be moving him up to 6 am/pm for Thursday since he needs to fast for the IAA test. I am not doing the full 12 hour fast like my vet wants, I will do about 6-8 per Dr. Janine's (Janine and Floyd) suggestion.

I forgot to mention to @Wendy&Neko that I split up his meals a little more today to try and combat him being so hungry. He did well overall, just still seems pretty hungry. His usual schedule is: AMPS half can, +4 full can, and PMPS full can. But since he has been eating more and not grazing as much, today I did AMPS half can, +3 half can, +7 half can, and PMPS half can, and +2 half can. I actually gave him a full can tonight because he has just seemed SO hungry lately... and I unfortunately have not been keeping up with getting him weighed weekly. My vet recommended coming in or buying the baby scale, so I opted to come in (she lives 5 mins away) to save some money. But I have not been keeping up with it. My vet said she recommended against weighing him on a regular scale (our weight minus my weight), but I don't really understand why, my scale has ounces so I feel like it would be pretty accurate? I have seen others say they use this method so I might do that unless there are objections.

Just weighed him with my scale (weighed both of us three times and they were all the same, minus my weight, weighed three times, all the same) and he is 15.8. This shouldn't change the amount of food he gets though since I should be doing the calculation of his ideal weight which is 13 pounds. So even though he is hungry, I should be trying my best to keep him at the calories for the ideal weight (247 calories/2.5 cans), right?

He was the same weight at the vet last time a few weeks ago (I forgot to note this in the SS - I will have to ask the vet what date this was). He gained .3 ounces since the visit before that, which is why my vet said he should probably go down to 2 cans soon. I know now that that is not enough calories so I will not be doing that.

If he truly does have acro, you’re going to drive yourself crazy trying to control his weight. I weigh Maverick by holding him on my scale and it’s been spot with what he weighs at the Vet. Good luck at your appointment!
