Thank you one and all for you help yesterday. Tray seems better today, no vomiting last night and he pooped! Ok it was a messy poop but still, he seemed much happier and playful afterward.

I have one question though, the vet gave me a hairball remedy Tonic-Lax. I was wondering if anyone here was familiar with it and if they knew if it had any sugar. His BG has gone up ever since and I was just thinking it might have to do with that. Could be all the stress too but his #s were quite good and I don't want to mess with them.

Hi guys .. so glad to hear that tray didn't throw up anymore and even pooped! I don't know about the hairball medicine but I'm sure someone on this site knows something about it .. have a great weekend guys!

Great that Tray's feeling better! Messy's better than none
Sorry, no insight on the hairball med, I've only used Laxatone, which definitely is HC (Corn Syrup, Malt Syrup, Soybean Oil, Cane Molasses).
I couldn't find anything on what Tonic-Lax uses for palateability, but if it's a molasses-like stuff like Laxatone, I'd say it's probably similar.

I don't know anything about the hairball stuff, either, but it is GREAT news that Tray is feeling better!

Have a wonderful day!

We have never had any medicine for hairball so I'm not sure about that. It is sooo good to hear that Tray is feeling better and pooped! You know you have a FD cat when you are analyzing poop!!!   That is one of the many reasons I love this group. My co-workers would look at me insane if I were to say that.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday Iorwen!

Yay!!! And ditto.

I'm glad Tray is feeling better.

I use Vaseline for the hairballs. Put a big dab on each sine of the nose (on top of the whiskers) and dabs on each paw (top side). Does the trick.
