J.D. ate okay last night. He ate a bunch as soon as we got home, which is normal for him, and then ate a little here and there after that. He had a fine poo in the middle of the night.

He did not want to get up this morning. I only got out 3 hours of sleep from the coffee I drank too late yesterday :-|
I think J.D. will eat today and be okay. Wish us luck.

I ended up syringing just 10ml of MaxCal. Right now, he is eating some LC mixed with MC with some crumbled Temptations on top, while laying in his big doggy bed.

Keep sending the eating vines and feel better vines, please.

Thanks Carla and Amy.
I can't wait to get home, and I hope he is feeling better and eating good today.

Does anyone know anything about vet acupuncture? I don't.

Many vines for J.D. We are getting acupuncture for Zener, to help with pain and kidneys. Our regular vet does it.

Hi Dyana. First, lots of vines for J.D. And you.

Second, my Spike cat had acupuncture for arthritis in his rear stifles. (More often at the start, less often as time went on) With the treatment, he was once again able to jump from the floor to the top of my desk without effort. And, of course, scatter all the papers and pens all over the floor and sit on the laptop keyboard to the point that I lost the hard drive. Ah, yes. Worked well for Spikey. Not so well for me!

My dog, Bud, had acupuncture for spinal issues. Eventually, he even had procain injections at the acupuncture sites, along with b-12. We even did ozone treatments with him. Each helped. For a while. A year or so.

Most food was eaten when I got home from work at PMPS. I hope Ginger isn't getting too fat.

I called the one vet I have never been to about acupuncture information, and they said they only have evening appointments on Thursdays and he would start with 3 times a week and then go to 2 times a week, then I guess weekly, then monthly. I am not able to take time off from work 3 days a week. They also said they've been offering it for a month, now. She mentioned a doctor's name. I hope the doctor has been practicing acupuncture for more than one month. That's one thing that worries me, I want a doctor that has been doing it for years. She also said they have Therapeutic Laser which would help. I told her I was just gathering information.

Later, I called the vet clinic that is on the way to my work and a good 20 minutes away. It is a really neat lady Dr. H that owns her own practice and there are signs on the door that says "Ferals Welcome" and she donates a bunch to rescues. This is the vet where I used to take J.D. to get BP checks and he was always what I thought was high (my regular vet Dr. C has gotten perfect BP checks three times in a row on three separate occasions, so I think J.D. might be stressed at this vet that's on the way to work). Anyway, she recently advertised acupuncture, and they already have some of J.D.'s records. I asked how long Dr. H had been doing acupuncture and the receptionist said 2 years. She also said they have ultrasound and xrays. I asked if they do ultrasounds there and she said they utilize two mobile? vets and the first name she mentioned was Dr. C which is J.D.'s regular vet from around the corner from my house. I thought that was interesting. I love Dr. C. The receptionist said that they like to use a different ultrasound person too (or prefer, is how I took it to mean).
Anyway, we have our first initial one hour exam next Monday afternoon the 23rd (my Monday off next week) and our first follow up appointment for that Saturday the 28th.

J.D. seems to be walking fine this evening so far, and he pooed a perfect poo and peed and I am just waiting for him to eat. If he ate all afternoon, he may not want to eat for awhile.

Thank you Marilyn :YMHUG: That is good to know.
The one vet that I decided not to go to advertised that they have a "quiet room" where the cat and owner goes instead of being in the exam room for the treatment. I hope they have something like that room at the vet where Dr. H works. He normally acts like such a mellow fellow at vet visits, but if his BPs were up there at that office, then he may just be hiding his stress. I hope J.D. isn't too old for acupuncture.

Well, Spikey had acupuncture off and on from the age of 14 'til he crossed at 18.

The treatment was done in her treatment room, but she let me hold Spikey with his head on my shoulder and my hand under his butt. 'Course he was a major mama's boy and was cool through the process. Plus he'd yowl to shake the windows if the vet or any techs took him in the back rooms! (Not a good thing for waiting clients to hear.)

Glad that J.D. has been eating some for you and that he is walking better tonight.

I hope you can do the acupuncture for J.D. and see it it works, at least!

Now, get some sleep!!

J.D. just doesn't want to eat. He was laying next to my bed and I brought him a plate of food with some extra water and left and went back to find him partially laying in it, so he got a bath (a half bath). I syringed some MaxCal and gave him his ABs and bupe. The vet said to give the Orbax for 7 days and today is the 7th day, so maybe hopefully he'll have a better appetite tomorrow. He wouldn't eat MC or treats or deli meat. :(
Please keep sending the vines to J.D.

Thanks.

I just spoon fed him a 1/2 can of FF Cold, Sole & Shrimp and he bit my hand and the can he was so into it :?
Now, I will sleep with a smile on my face. Now, I can sleep deeply. :)

Hi Dyana,
I am so glad J.D. ate some for you this evening.
Sending more appy vines and feel better vines.

Lucy has been getting acupuncture on/off over a year, to improve the function of her organs, tummy, pancreas and such, as well as to boost her mood.
From March to July last year, she had sessions with one of the vets at our regular clinic, and I think she had less than a year experience when we started.
Because she went on a maternity leave, we found a different vet, and had house call sessions with her from December to April this year.
This vet had much longer experience.
But I like the first vet with less experience because she was more gentle and she took time and care to keep Lucy calm.
Lucy was more relaxed during the sessions with the first vet, usually fell almost asleep, and perked up more after the sessions with the first vet.
I think that the first vet was just more talented, just "had it" in her, despite less experience, so personally I wouldn't worry too much about "how many years" the vet has been practicing acupuncture.
The 1st vet will be coming back from her leave next month, so I'm going to start sessions with her again.
We can compare notes then. :-D
