06/13 Caturday - EKG, Weight - Jackson, and other random thoughts

Jackson had his EKG and Xray on Monday, because I saw him panting when outside and it was just a little warm and very humid.
He had to fast for the Xray so that his tummy would be empty. The fast was supposed to be from 3:30am on, as his procedure was at 1:30pm, but the cats didn't want the food that I served to them at 3:30am. So, they both starved for like 18 hours (I'm guessing they both ate last at their 7:30pm dinner the night before). The vet said all was good and she is pleased.
Jackson had his first weight loss. He was 9 pounds 15 ounces last weekend, and I thought he would be 10 pounds today, but was 9 pounds 13.5 ounces today (I checked twice). Ginger on the other hand gained a couple more ounces. Here is Jackson this evening:

I hope the weight loss is okay. I was wondering if he should be 10 pounds at not even 9 months old.

Besides the squirrels, I now have a cardinal friend that cheeps when he wants a peanut. I like cardinals.

Ginger is doing well. She still hisses at Jackson sometimes, but she's a little less grouchy since she got the calming collar:

Anyway, I just thought I should make a Caturday condo, since I haven't in a while.

Such cute pics, I couldn't resist giving Ginger a little kiss on the head, and then another one on her little Cindy Crawfordesque beauty mark :joyful::oops::joyful:

No idea about the weight thing - especially when talking in pounds - but he certainly looks good even with a little belly sag, not everyone can have a six pack ;) I'm glad his results came back all good :)
 
Great to see a Caturday report from you Dyana. I always love your pics of your kitties. Jackson is getting so big now! I am glad the vet was happy with what he saw on the X-rays. Jackson just might be slowing down on the weight gain. Neko gets weighed regularly at the vet and her vet isn't worried if there is a couple ounces of weight variation. Depends on eating and LB contributions too.

Ginger is beautiful! You can tell who is in charge:).
 
I'm so glad you had the tests done and the vet was pleased with the results. I'm sure you are very relieve.

Jackson is growing from an adorable kitten to a very handsome fellow! Ginger, as always, is lovely.

So nice to get an update from you and see your beautiful babies.
 
I'm glad both kitties are doing well. Those are such cute pictures. I wouldn't worry about a couples of ounces in weight difference. I weigh my kitties once a week and their weight can fluctuate by a couple of ounces each week. If he started steadily losing weight, I'd be concerned.

They both look GREAT! Thanks for the pictures. I'm glad the vet is pleased with Jackson's tests. I also would not worry about a couple of ounces. Has Jackson grown in length?

I have been weighing Jackson every week and he was gaining sometimes 6 or 7 ounces per week and sometimes only 2 or 3 ounces per week. I was wondering when it was going to stop, as he was almost 10lbs already. Yesterday was the first weighin where he not only didn't gain weight, but actually lost weight, so it kind of has double meaning.
I think he's fine.
 
It's so good to see you posting Dyana- we miss you and I'm so glad Jackson has had those tests and is doing well, Ginger too! (I sometimes think I need one of those anti-grouchy collars! :rolleyes:) Beautiful pictures of your furbabies- hugs and scritches for all of you! :bighug:
