Yesterday

I overslept this morning, and the rest of the day kind of fell apart as it went on. Squallie is about the same, not hiding as much and playing a little bit. I haven't called the vet yet about ABs, will do it first thing in the AM.

Here is link for the paperwork from his echo.

Sending mega super duper feel all better prayers to our buddy , Squallie and big hugs and peace prayers for his wonderful momma :bighug:❤️:bighug:❤️:bighug:❤️

I just had a very weird thing happen. I fed the kitties, picked up Squallie's syringe and gave him his shot, then realized his shot was sitting next to me on the sofa. So what did I shoot him with????? An empty syringe? There was some give to it when I depressed it, but not as much as I would normally expect. And now what? Do I go ahead and give him the shot I put next to me on the sofa? I'm stymied as to where the "other" syringe came from, but I can't believe it had anything in it. It had to be one I had already used. Now I'm going to worry about infection, too!

Lucy, don’t let yourself go there ... don’t worry ab the shot . It’s one shot on one day . All will be well AND you are getting ABs so that’s covered too :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yikes. Not sure on dose, but if it was an empty syringe, I wouldn't worry. Was insulin in the other syringe?

My only other suggestion is a sharps container for used syringes. Nothing fancy is needed. I use a Crystal Light mix container. I cut an asteisk in the top with a box cutter so I can just pop them in with one hand when used.

Well, maybe I'm an idiot, but I went ahead and gave him the correct shot - there's just no way the "other" syringe had any insulin in it, I am 100% certain.

Lol, I have containers all over my house with syringes in them. But sometimes I'm lazy and will just toss one onto a table, and I'm sure it's one of those that I picked up. I keep meaning to take them to my vet for disposal and every time I go, I forget them.

Well, it's good to know I am not the only daft aporth around here.

Squalls will be fine from the bogus syringe moment.

You may remember that in the beginning I was needing to use syringes more than once . Ty neither felt anything nor did he gain a raging infection.
