Thank you I honestly don’t know what to do anymore he is on Classic FF & 1% carb ultimates for snacks might look up your foods at my next visit to petbarn…how often do you feed ?!Oh no, praying for your baby. Mine is staying the opposite, holding in the 40's. Have you tried some lower carb foods? Boris didn't take well until I switched to Tiki cat beef and chicken, Weruva Cats in the kitchen chick frik a zee, and My BFF Soulmates. I'd tried several foods before that within certain carb ranges. Now all are below 3% carbs until I have days like now. Anything over he tended to go high into the 300-400's. He was carb sensitive until recently it seems. Hope Shai comes down soon and levels out!
& I Am overwhelmedHe’s just not used to normal bg.
I feed every 12 hours but have started breaking up breakfast and then giving a snack at +2-3 because to try and curb his drops when the insulin kicks in. Like tiffmaxee said, it seems Shai gets a low then bounces because he is not used to the numbers.T

If you look at Boris's spreadsheet, you will see he did the same thing, and after a while finally leveled out. You may want to try a small snack at +2 or break breakfast feeding into PS and +1 to keep numbers from dropping so fast. Going from 484 to 184 are fast drops and will make the liver think Shai is in emergency mode and start producing glucosamine, which makes his numbers rise again.
It is frustrating, but he will adjust soon. First Boris had to get used to the 200's, then 100's. After the 100's started stabilizing, he's now hitting the greens. Stick with it. It will get better.
Thank you for your encouragement
Since a couple of weeks if not a bit longer he gets half of a ff can pre shot then 1/4 at +1 & 1/4 at +2 though for ages he had a full can pre shot then a 1%carb spoon at +1 & +2
Still not sure what to try as high carb for +1 & +2 but it might help the drops…tried some whiskas & some grilled FF but didn’t see any difference really
hope he will get there cause the blacks & reds are stressing me thanks again & glad your bubba got through this frustration
Fancy feast is fine. A lot of people use it. I had to play with food and see which ones worked best with Boris. Most of the FF sold here in stores is all too high in carbs. Tiki cat has a lot of 0 carb food. In the beginning, Boris was very carb sensitive so I’ve stuck with 2% or less and use the other stuff when I need to bring him up. With an exception to the 5% epigen 90 kibble I give him as snacks at +2. Every cat is different though.Trying to stick To fancy feast
I’ll look up the weruva food
