I'm wondering if Puddin is feeling the "sting" I've read about with the higher doses of Lantus. What are the signs of this? Decent day for Puddin overall.

Not all cats notice the sting at higher doses, and some feel it at smaller doses. The initial signs for me were more fur shots as she walked away during the middle of the shot. Unlike Levemir, where I sometimes noticed her purring during the shot. I've seen people report everything from behaviour changes to skin rippling during the shot to vocally complaining during the shot to hiding. Are you seeing anything different? I've also seen a cat in the 20's of units with no issues.

OK, thank you Wendy. When I started the 12u I thought he was kind of twitching or tensing at the injection site as I injected (I shoot while he eats). I reviewed the techniques for injecting and am being more aware of how I inject and he has seemed fine the past 2 shots, at least. I'll continue to be aware of these possible signs.

Hi, Bella. I see you've been over to Purrl's place the last couple days. Seems we both have high dose kitties. I didn't even know about possible stinging with the injection. Guess I missed that data point. Ha! It's amazing the minute things we have to pay attention to with all this.

Puddin is an awesome name. :cat::)

I wish you and Puddin well on this odd journey.

It really is an odd journey, especially when all has been tried from the start to prevent certain illnesses in our pets (I read you even had Purrl on raw food before the diabetes diagnosis).
I learn something new almost weekly, if not daily on this forum - the most recent was the "stingy of Lantus.
I enjoy watching Purrl's journey. Did you ever get any update on testing for Acro or IAA. I have plans to bring Puddin for his testing today.

After research, several consultations, and considering the practicality for Purrl and us, along with the logistics of it all, we've decided not to pursue that avenue any further.

I'll be paying attention to your journey with Puddin and hope all goes well for you two.
