Morning all,

Back in the red. We needed a couple of days for me to calm down so I wasn't stressing them out.

This morning I've emailed the s/s link to the vet and asked if we should be increasing the dose (thank you for the nudge, Sienne :-D ).

We have a holiday Monday coming up at the end of this week, so I'm hoping to do a curve while I have the extra day at home.

We'll get there.

Have a good evening/afternoon/night everyone :-D

In the pink.

The vet wants her to get a bit more stable before making any dose adjustments, and there's a fructosamine test coming up next week too.

I'm to email them with this weekend's curve, then we'll go from there.

xo

Morning Lesley and Cheekyface. That is such a cute name. Good luck with the curve, and it's great your Vet is getting involved and wants to see the ss. Have a nice morning/day.

Glad to hear the vet is involved and supportive. If you are doing a curve before the fructosamine test and home testing throughout the week ...uhmmm that expensive test really isn't needed. The information gathered from a fructo-test covers the average over the past 2-3 weeks. You own information is more up to date than the test itself.

Although I do let my vet run the fructo-test once or twice a year, but during the regulation phase the information it produces is kind of old.

Thanks Ann and Blue

I'm not really sure exactly when they want to do the fructo test, I must admit; it may not be for another few weeks, especially since they know I'm home-testing and have actually spot-checked my readings against their own. I was a bit distracted on Friday when we spoke about it because I was more worried about my geriatric CRF boy.

I'm off to NZ on 5 July for a fortnight to see my elderly parents, and my baby will have to stay in a vet-run cattery (my housesitter is needlephobic and was packing death into the bargain at the thought of looking after her while she's still regulating) so it may well have to wait until after I get back, which is probably more reasonable. I'll be giving the 30-day average from my meter when I send the curve results too so maybe that will put them off.

God knows I could do with one less expense right now: I'm broke, first of all with her initial episode and then this sudden cattery stay--it's costing me about the same as my return airfare!! just as well that's been paid for a year
