Furball was happy & purry this morning despite the pink. I need to get another vial of Lantus for her. I called around yesterday and the cheapest price for a vial is $163. Does anyone know if there is a coupon for a vial? The only ones I have seen are for the pens. I don't know if I can use one though since it's obvious from Furball's name she's not a human.

Lucky is not doing very well. He seems to be getting worse. He is still enjoying the cottage cheese and flaxseed oil, but not eating as much.

You can use the coupon for the pens for human or cat. After all, a human is paying the bill. lol

There is a thread here about those coupons. I read somewhere that if they give you a hard time, ask for a manager.

Morning Carla, I use Levemir but the pharmacy did allow me to use the coupon for the pens for Zeus. It went through without any trouble. You should give it a try. I hope Furball slide down today, blues would be great. I'm so sorry that Lucky is not doing well. Poor little guy. Give him some extra lovin and pats from us. I will keep him (and you) in my thoughts and prayers.

No idea on the coupon for the vial. Have you thought about switching to pens? We used the vial for a year but I kept having to throw out so much that I finally switched and am so happy that I did. A vial was $130 here and a 5 pack of pens is $225. The vial lasted me maybe 45 days and the pens last me about 6 months. You can also check around. Some place will sell single pens. We have used the coupons for the pens at Sams and they know it is a cat.

The coupon I use is from the Lantus site. Their only obvious requirement is that the applicant is over 18yo and doesn't have insurance. The assumption is that the insulin is for a human but since they don't specifically ask, I don't say anything.

I am going to try using the coupon also. My local Target told me they would sell a single pen, but I haven't told them it is for a cat yet. My vial is 2 months old, but looks good and still seems to be doing it's job. I still have to try and print out the coupon. I registered at the Lantus site, but my printer wouldn't work when I tried to print it :evil:

That's great to hear that Target will sell single pens. My Walmart would not sell single pens. However, one of my local pharmacies did sell me a single pen. The nice guy behind the counter said that they sell single pens to the nursing home. So he didn't mind selling single pens to me and that he understood not wanting to get all 5/6 pens at once. Thank goodness!

Thanks everyone for your advice on the Lantus coupon. I don't know about switching from the vial to the pens. I wish there was a coupon for the vials.

Poor Lucky is worse this evening. I think the tumor is growing. It is definitely making his ear bother him more. I don't think he's going to be with me for much longer.
 
I googled Lantus pens and found this, http://www.lantus.com/sign-up/offers.aspx. It's a savings card that says you can pay no more than $25 on up to 6 prescriptions, but there are certain eligibility requirements.... Didn't say what those were., but I also found this condo that talks about using this savings card. http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopi ... 50aa2aab48. Doesn't hurt to check it out.

Great WCR on Furball! :-D We just switched to the pens using the Lantus coupon and the pharmacy had no problem filling the script. Asking ain't gettin' but if you don't ask, you don't get. The pen is actually a little easier to use than the vial. Did you see Julie's video about using the vial and pen? That might be helpful. I am so sorry about Lucky. :sad: I'm glad you found something that he likes to eat.
