Oh my gosh!!! It is Dolly's BIRTHDAY! I am so happy that I did not miss this completely! HAPPY 12th BIRTHDAY, DEAR DOLLY (all the kitties at my house are singing)! Tell me, how do you know Dolly's birthday? Did you have her from birth? I thought you adopted her later, but did they previous owner have her birthday? I have had a few cats... say, born outside my front door (YEP, in a little insulated dog house that we put there for the feral cats) that I knew the exact birth date for... and I have had a number of foster kittens that I have known the exact birth date for (feral mama cat.. fat one day, skinny the next day.. so I write down date kittens were born). And I have been closely questioned by the rescue group... are you SURE they were born on this day... they're awfully small... YES, I am sure... and then they write down the birthday that they estimate anyway.... ignoring my information... the person who knew them and took care of them from birth.

ANYWAY, tell me about Dolly and where she was born and how she became yours. I'm pretty sure you adopted her later on?? Or am I doing a dumb thing an mixing her up with someone else?

Happy birthday, Dolly, and many more. I hope she is enjoying a diabetic friendly cake.
Thank you for your good thoughts for Butters and me. We appreciate them very much. I hope you and Dolly are both doing well. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Lyla, I have been looking for an update on Butters ... thinking of you both every day... did I miss your latest condo?

Yes, we adopted her at age 4. She came with her medical records, shots etc. and a lot of fear. I think we picked her because we felt she needed a safe, loving place more than all the other kitties. She was a foster kitty and I think she went through some hard times. I know she loves us but she still, after 8 years, has trust issues. We adopted her for our Funny Face, a beautiful torti with a kinked tail (the runt), that was mourning the loss of her adopted sister Pretty Girl, we adopted them together. Pretty girl started hiding on a Monday, no signs whatsoever of pain or illness before this, diagnosed with advanced Leukemia on Tuesday and we said goodbye to her on Friday. We were all devastated but Funny Face went into a depression, they were so attached. They shared 9 wonderful years together. 5 months later we adopted Dolly to keep her company, we were still working. Funny Face was mean and intimidating to Dolly. Dolly lived under our dining room table for months. She had a bed, blankets, pillows, food and water and a litter box facing into her little apartment. Eventually they learned to tolerate each other. We had to say goodbye to Funny Face
03/28/2019. She was a very sick kitty. Terrible loss, especially for my husband. She was my husbands cat, Dolly is my girl. We did share. ;) Don’t know if Dolly was happy, she now had us to herself, no more intimidation, or sad, her step sister just up and disappeared.

You know me Suzanne, I could go on forever. I have books to write about our life with Dolly girl, not easy, but full of love. She is “a piece of work” but a wonderful one. She captured my heart different from all of our other cats, possibly because she is so needy yet so hard to get close to most of the time. That’s a very “tiny bit” of life with Dolly. Thank you Suzanne for asking. I hope Darcy is doing okay, food, poop, his numbers. I think Dolly’s working towards a reduction in the near future. Her last raise was a bit of a knee jerk reaction. I worry about her all the time, we call her our special needs kitty. They are all different but Dolly is a tough one. She is not very loving or good at receiving a lot of physical touch. I love her to bits,12 years old, hard to believe. Take good care Suzanne and thank you again. Loving prayers and hugs to you all. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Only just seeing these! Has she been having LC only tonight?

I will say goodnight with my one Birthday wish for Dolly - what I wouldn’t give to hear her playing with her toys and making her hunting prey sounds, her little grunts, after I go to bed. :(
