Shot went well this morning. I fed him right next to his sister and I wonder if that helped. I think he’s just an unpredictable cat.

I also went more in his side (flank?) and that seemed to be easier too, was able to roll more skin. I’ll just keep trying

Have a beautiful day everyone, give love to your kitties from me🥰

Love seeing that blue stretch today 💙💙💙
He’s doing so well!
Great to hear the shot went well and maybe including Calliope helps!
(She’s adorable 🥰)
Have a great day and safe surf 🏄‍♂️ 🌊🥰

Nice bounce-break! Yay!! Paws crossed he continues coming down and sees some more of those greens again soon!
Sweet Calliope is beautiful!!! Glad she helps with the shots (like @zero - sigma & mielconejo's sigma does).
Yes! I thought of zero & sigma and thought let’s try it. It worked again tonight too (at least that’s what I’m telling myself - I think he’s just going to do what he’s doing to do) One more shot to go until the wrap is here😅

Big dive tonight at +2. I just fed him some MC to slow him down. I’ll be checking on him through the night. I do wish he didn’t drop so quickly, it puts me on edge, but I’m happy to see this dose working!

He seems hungrier, I read that can happen when their BG drops. I’ll keep him hungry though in case I need to keep feeding him.

🏄💚🥰

You're doing great. Just as a reminder: these numbers are not too low (i.e. were he not having a big dive, I would not carb these numbers), but you're bumping him up because he's had a sharp dive from that preshot, and you're helping to flatten the curve (stop the dive) so he doesn't have too much of a bounce later on.

Yes thank you for mentioning that in case anyone new might be following! I was concerned he would continue dropping at the rate he was going and then go below 50 too. Glad you mentioned the bouncing. I just gave him a pep talk and told him to stay right where he’s at.

“On the surfboard Mister, not under it” 😆

Yes, you're preventing him from going too low, AND you are slowing the drop to prevent a bounce. You caught him diving early--you did exactly what you were supposed to do--fed him a higher carb food--and stopped the drop. Now you're keeping him ON the surfboard with whatever carb-value he needs (he might not need any at this point). I've had Jude drop below 50 before and when I tried to boost him, he wouldn't eat any food (nightmare!). I just pulled out the honey and began dabbing it on his nose, and he licked it off, and it boosted him enough to get through the nadir and onto the other side of the cycle.

Thankfully his numbers are staying flat these last few tests so I'll keep an eye on them and I'm gonna leave him alone with any more food for now until he gets hungry again or if he decides to dive. Thank you so much for staying with me and for your clear explanations, that's exactly what I need to learn and help him next time. Being new to these green numbers coupled with the fact that he sometimes dives at +1/+2, I get a little on edge.

That must have been so nerve racking! Honey on the nose is a good idea. In situations like that, "a little" honey/syrup would be like a dab on the tip of your finger at a time?

I gave him several dabs on the nose, and he licked it off (with positive results, thankfully). Actually, at the time, I didn't even care if I gave him too much. I just needed him to bounce up a bit.

Mister is having a great surf!!
