I'm sorry you have some added challenges, Laura. Aside from testing, which will only possibly indicate that you gave a shot last night, there really is no way to know for sure.

I would just pretend that you DID give the shot, and give Mom-mom her shot at the usual time this morning.

Sending prayers that you have a calmer day today :YMHUG: .

Hi Laura,

I hope you are feeling better today. I also would give Mom-Mom shot in the morning as if you had given the shot yesterday's evening. Mom-Mom keeps having too high values for a long time, so I would increase her dose to 1.25u and try to hold the dose for some days. Are you testing for ketones?

Hugs,
Cristina

Hi guys .. I'm sorry you are dealing with some challenges right now .. Sounds like people are suggesting a morning shot like usual .. I hope you have a better day and a great weekend!

hi laura!

as a rule of thumb, we never reshoot if we think we might've gotten any insulin in. So if you give a shot and some squirts out by accident (not in her), you don't reshoot. if you can't remember if you gave the shot, don't reshoot. it's better to have her high than to accidentally give her 2 shots.

why did you go back to 1.0u for the dose after just one shot at 1.5u? I thought you were going to stick with that for a while and see if it brought her numbers down some. She definitely needs more insulin - those constant HIs are bad for her. If you're afraid of the 1.5 (although that was what the protocol would suggest based upon her numbers) you could give 1.25u. Whichever you go with, stick with it for enough cycles that we can see if it works.

sorry you had such a rough morning. i hope the day got better as it went on.
