My friend had to take her to the vet yesterday - she was shallow breathing and oalmost gasping for air. The vet checked her and said her colour is good, her heart rate was fine and her tooth was healing beautifully. He said this could be a reaction to the anti-biotics or Bupe so she was to come off all other drugs except the insulin since the tooth was looking so good (no redness or puffiness and sealing over well) and to see if it subsides. She is still shallow breathing a bit today so I am freaking out although he said it could take up to 48 hours for the meds to be out of her system. Following that if no improvement we are to get a chest xray. I am so nervous but it seems very coincidental that this happened right when she went on meds......

Aw, poor girl. Great that your friend checked on her and took her in for you. (( Leslie )), I hope she is doing better today.
 
Just keep an eye on her -- I know you are. I suspect if she were really in distress and stressed, Bayley's BG would be going up, not down and she wouldn't be eating.
 
She is eating and drinking and came out as soon as she heard the cheese - haha

She is still breathing rather shallow but her mouth is not open - and she is definately slower and less alert than usual - I am so worried - I would have thought the meds would be out of her system by now but the vet did say it couldd take up to 48 hours...... please send healing vines to my little kid
 
We're here with healing vines for Bayley.....it's tough to sit an wait for the time to go by. 48 hours,eh?
Well, I am glad your friend was able to bring her to the vet. I do hope she will be improving as the hours go by...HUGS to you both!! :YMHUG:

It's been awhile - how's bayley doing now? How's her breathing now, is she seeming a bit better than this morn?
